Dude what's wrong with you? Calm down and have a normal conversation . You don't need to curse people out daily
Would Bregman have more or less range at 2B than Altuve? I am guessing about the same. He is slower but a couple of inches taller.
Love the idea of guys refusing to change positions. Both Devers and Bregman standing awkwardly at third. Feels like something Roger Dorn would do.
Devers was also the one that was very outspoken about the organization doing things to make them better We need to acquire talent, just don’t ask ME to do anything LOLOL
Devers was worth -9 DRS and Bregman +6 15 runs saved is worth 3 wins statistically. Without even considering offense, moving Bregman to 3b and Devers to DH has a huge impact on Boston. Obviously defensive stats vary year to year but. . . Bregman is very unlikely to be as good at 2b as he was at 3b. Boston was a cumulative +2 DRS at 2b last year. Keeping Devers at 3b ignores a huge opportunity to improve the team and likely makes the team even worse than it was in 2024, defendively.
A Bregman typical slow start and Devers making 3 errors the first two weeks I need a beer and some pretzels
They traded away Betts. Why would Devers trust them on anything. But whatever, Bregman can play short and second. I doubt Trevor is locked in at short.
Good for Devers. He got paid 300+ but still has passion to play his position even though he’s not the best
He's closer to terrible at 3B than best...in fact he is terrible. More power to him though, keep that fire going Devers and burn the Sox.
"I know my desire to play my one position will hurt the team, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make"
More - I think he could be a pretty good second baseman and the position fits his arm and size better than 3rd base. Also - there really isn't a positional punishment from a production standpoint moving to second base.
Devers was a very talented young player when he was moving up the Red Sox system. The bat and ability is difficult to question - he is likely going to have over 250 homers by his 30th birthday....... but he really doesn't take care of his body at all, and seems to be oblivious to the fact his range already has decreased and will only hit a brick wall in the next year or two. The Red Sox made the decision to pay him a lot of money - but I suspect they would be more willing to let him stay at 3rd if he put in the physical conditioning needed to remain a top option on the infield. People can say what they want about Alex Rodriquez or even Alex Bregman - but they did or have shown that they protect their bodies long term. Devers need to either really ramp up the conditioning or accept that his playing in 5 years is going to depend on his bat as a DH.
