Our future isn't going to hinge on Congress, I don't think. The democrats in Congress don't have the power to hold Trump accountable whether they realize the danger or not, and the republicans have already signed the deal with the devil. Their opportunity came and went when there was an impeachment and they voted to acquit. Our future hinges on the Supreme Court. And yes, it's stacked in Trump's favor and a few of them have their positions because of Trump. But they have their own base of power and they have to decide whether they are going to subordinate their own power and Congress' to the President's. They have recently clawed back some power from the Executive by overturning the Chevron Doctrine and made judges the arbiters of administration decisions. If they allow the mass firings and the sabotage of government agencies by simple executive order, I take that as a sign that they bend the knee and the Republic is lost.

Speaking of government waste. Those millions of dollars spent for security around New Orleans and the Superbowl to draw attention to himself, or to ride around at Daytona in a limo to draw attention to himself as government workers are being fired and while Kentucky is being ravaged with floods. Less for thee, more for me. And no, don't expect to see him out there with Habitat for Humanity in Kentucky, or anywhere else building homes with the communities out of the goodness of his heart like Jimmy Carter did for decades.
