That’s funny. I read a review calling it a good made for TV movie in terms of plot. I’ll see it this weekend and report back.
saw it. dope. maybe a solid 7.5/10 haven't had time to chew on it, so chewing as we go. the whole time i couldn't help but compare the new trio with their original counterparts: new: blek captain mexican falcon mossad window vs old: steve murica blek falcon blek window things would have been so much easier with steve murica, he would have made better decisions. i know this is a standalone movie, but seeing red hulk there and the main villain being professor brains, it would have really made sense to have bruce banner hulk there. the new characters just doesn't fit, mexican falcon and mossad window just aren't it. i wished they would have killed them off. i know this movie tried to ease us in to accepting the new captain, but i still can't see it. plus the uniform is tacky as hell, no tactical advantage as you can see it from 10 miles away and its brightness would burn your retinas. story wise it was ok. since they keep bringing it up, i hope blek captain will take the super serum in the next one. also bucky as a congressman doesn't make any sense. earth 616 must be real stupid to vote a crazy general to office and an easily triggered assasin to congress, and what was the point of having bucky there for 3 minutes? to show that he is running for congress and he is now steve murica-level wise to set up for the thunderbolts? as far as the action, it was dope. the f16 vs black captain and mexican falcon was great. wished they could show more of that, with the cool maneuvers. the final boss fight with red hulk was badass too. banner hulk would have probably killed blek captain in like 3 minutes, since he has more experience hulking. oh i forgot, there was that scene where blek captain stuck a superhero landing that should've broken so many bones, but it was cool i guess. maybe @Xerobull breh would know why, but president red hulk should have tasked assembling the new avengers to nick fury. i know that's a lot of complaints, but i enjoyed it overall. no woke stuff so @tinman breh should approve.
it isnt as bad as everyone is saying, but i will probably never watch it again. the captain america/falcon/jet fighter fight was cool. All flying stuff from falcon/captain america is cool and underrated as action set pieces. (some) people hate the stuff that eludes to racism and being black in america and captain america being black, but this movie need that. especially with some of the stuff with isiah bradley. could have def been a better movie if they weren't cowards. also they should casted all these people. would have been an easy layup
You assholes need to stop enabling this marvel crap we don’t get any normal movies anymore all formulaic crap
I just can’t seem to shake my Marvel hangover after Endgame. No idea why but nothing has appealed to me to try to watch. Other than the Spider-Man movies amd Deadpool. But haven’t even seen the last Deadpool yet.
When the Multiverse took over the films, you open too many possibilities. Even after raising and dropping a city and invisible flying carriers and beings from another dimension attacking (only) New York and half of all beings blipping out of existence for 5 years. Yeah, they're comic books but maybe include a little more real world WTF-ism's? It's like eating that bowl of Corn Pops; yummy, not healthy for me but yummy, and now I'm hungry and need something substantive.
It was ok. I like Anthony Mackie, and Sam as the new Cap. Harrison Ford did way too much heavy lifting for this movie. The fight scenes were pretty lit. Liv Tyler is still fine as hell. Felt like they wanted to include too much story into a 2 hour movie, so much got glossed over.
Watched it. Wasn't infuriatingly bad but felt like an unevenly baked frozen pizza with pockets of raw dough. It felt like a D+ show, but passes because the same amount of money was dumped on it for 2 hrs instead of 9. After reading about how marvel is now all green screen even for basic sets, that last scene where Mackie does his speech felt like one among many other multiverse endings no Watcher not named Feige will ever see. As for the thinky bits, this isn't that movie. This review was among the most scathing and he wasnt that far off. He hated it so much, he gives a play by play of the movie without a spoiler warning. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/captain-america-brave-new-world-movie-review-2025
this is one of those entertaining movies that you only watch once. no rewatchability at all like spiderman never come home. i do agree that this would be better as an 8 episode d+ series. flesh some details out and maybe kill off mexican falcon and mossad window. now i know why that mexican falcon seems so familiar, he reminds me of the mexican sidekick from ander's game. after sitting on it for a bit, i still can't see him as blek capt murica. having no powers is automatic sidekick or npc, unless you're tony stark. and he definitely shouldn't be fighting the big fights with the avengers, unless he's playing the nick fury role of standing on the sidelines spitting badass lines.
It was so so for me, just uneven all around. Think there's a better story they could have told but it appears the main purpose was to open up the universe to Adamantium and all that entails. C for me....
Not very interested in the movie, but I love reviews like this one. Has a bit of Anthony Lane's bile, which is awesome. Nice metaphor on your part to the frozen pizza too, haha.
