The rockets could’ve had harden instead of FVV creating the easiest looks for Sengun Bari and Jalen but the fans were too much in their feelings. The 2024 draft was one where you trade down. Portland wanted 3 for 7 and 14. You get those two picks, ask Utah to trade 10 and 29 for 7. You take McCain at 10 Ware at 14 Collier at 29 FVV/Mccain/Collier Green/Amen Brooks/Cam Bari/Tari Sengun/Adams/Ware
You answered your own question. FVV has 38/34 shooting splits and essentially never gets benched for missing shots. Same thing goes for Jalen when he's shooting like trash. But they stay on the court because they do other things. Reed cannot do those other things. If Reed could do those other things he'd stay on the court more. Ime gave Reed 5 minutes in the first half of last game and then never went back to him and Reed didn't take a single shot. Ime is deciding based off of more than missed shots.
You can't just retrospectively trade back to late draft spots and decide you would take what turned out to be the best players available at those spots. If the Rockets really wanted McCain, Ware, or Collier they also probably could've pretty easily gotten them by trading future draft assets. They already have enough players to try to develop. Right or wrong the FO had Reed as the top player in this draft based on some of his crazy advanced stats and traditional scouting. What right now looks like the hindsight and maybe should've been foresight move would be picking Castle at 3 instead of Reed. I still have a lot of hope for Reed and think he's going to be a good player if/when his shot starts to regularly fall. But Castle is way ahead right now.
Those are different things lol. JG and FVV can do other things besides shooting so they get playing time even if they cant shoot. Reed Sheppard cant do other things if he cant shoot thats why he doesnt get PT. But IF Sheppard could shoot he would get playing time. If you look at his mins played he plays lots of minutes when he has a high score. Like he played 30 mins when he scored 16 pts. Reed not taking a shot is the same as him missing a shot. He is brought in the game to provide spacing and be a scoring machine. Whether he is missing or not shooting he is not doing his role thats why he is getting benched. If he was hitting his shots at high volume then he'd be getting PT even if he couldnt do other things.
I'm guessing you are talking about the Nets game. It took him 14 shots to get those 16 points. He was 5-14 from the field. The impressive part of his stat sheet was 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks and 0 turnovers. In the first half he had 2 blocks, 2 offensive rebounds, and a steal. That kept him on the court and he scored 6 of his points in the last minute of the second quarter.
Yep. Thankfully that sub 80 IQ vocal minority are generally ignored. just look at post count. If they post more than 4-5 times a day, they’re definitely volume posters, not quality.
Yeah, wide left and wide right... It's really bad. It's an utter psychological collapse. Nick Anderson ****
You may need a break from the internet. The fans had nothing to do with the Rockets not bringing Harden back.
I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Incredibly frustrating to see every other rookie in the league having a better season than him. Can't make this up.
I would say physically as well. He looks like a kid. The other players make him look like 5'10" out there. Just like the Carolina Panthers quarterback. Bryce Young
