It does look like Meyers has added a lot of mass. He has performed better early than late the last 2 seasons, so maybe he holds up better. But it's a risk when mobility is easily your most valuable tool. This will probably be the last chance he gets to be given a long look as an everyday player.
I am very excited...the Astros flag station has been re running games from last year and it is getting me ready, last night they had the game VS the Dodgers from July 27th where Breggy hit the HR in the bottom of the 9th to win it...............even though I knew what was going to happen I still got goose bumps.........................Adios Breggy, love ya but I hope you crash and burn in Bean Town where the press is not as "nice"
Have zero faith in Chaz and Meyers, holding out hope that Melton, Smith, Leon, or Dezenzo win a starting spot.
Last season was pretty much the end of me being on the Meyers hype train. He got a full season of everyday playing time at age 27 and put up a middling season. He’s a fine everyday CF on a team with a stacked 1-7 where he can hit 8th or 9th. But he’s not a “good” player. Of course it’s possible he hasn’t had his career season yet. He did have a very manageable 22% k rate last season; if he can add power while maintaining that, then he’d be an above average CF and borderline star, but I’m not betting on that happening.
