They have him prepped as the next Babyfaced Assassin......his parents are all College ballers......

    White, rootable, good family background.....

Easily marketable.......but the most important thing is he has to deliver like Curry has....and he doesn't seem to be a volume shooter.

He hesitates too much......he is a deer in headlights.....afraid of the moment a lot of times.

He has some potential but I just do not see it.....actually....off to next year.

You really do spend a lot of energy to talk negative on Reed Sheppard.

Nobody claims that EVERYONE could overcome physical limitations. The argument goes like this:
    1. There are plenty of physically limited players by NBA standard who are good players (even stars).
    2. That means physical limitations by NBA standard do not determine whether a player can or cannot become a good player.
    3. Reed Sheppard is physically limited by NBA standard. But according to 1&2, you cannot use that to predict that he cannot be a good player.
    4. Therefore, if Reed turns out to be a bust, it won't be because of his physical limitations. It will be because he's not skilled enough or he doesn't have the mental makeup to use his skills.

Notice the limitations are by NBA standard. We are not talking about some average dude on the street. Reed is actually bigger and more athletic than some good NBA players.

BTW, some people here thought Jabari Smith was a bust in his rookie year because he was shooting like crap after being billed as an elite shooter in college. It had nothing to do with his physical attributes.

Did you also want Jabari? How did you feel after his first season? It's premature to doubt yourself or Reed, especially because Reed not allowed to start or to play through growing pains like Jalen + Jabari were accorded. You could ultimately be correct but I'd advise a modicum of patience.

The attempts + mins matter. Otherwise apples to oranges production comparison.

In hindsight Reed’s mom saying she needs to remind Reed not to be soft was a huge warning sign. Someone get the boy a lap dance, STAT. Better yet, get Monta Ellis to be his mentor.

His problem is he has a baby body as well. If you're that small your handle has to be elite or you're never touching the paint.

Not at all. I'd say it's WAY harder to hit .400+ at volume than it is if you're not taking that many attempts.

Jabari, Jalen and Amen all showed flashes of what they were drafted for all throughout their rookie seasons. By this time in those seasons you would have been able to point to 20 + games and see. Can we even scrape 7 games together where Reed showed flashes? Nope.

Was he even advertised as a scorer?

Where did this narrative that he is a scorer stem from?

I think he averaged like 12 pt in College on great percentages but few attempts.

If his highest was 12-13 ppg in College maybe we should dial down expectations and call him a role player and potentially bench player?!

He also averaged like 28.9 minutes a game.

In hindsight I would have picked Keegan Murray over him.

Don't agree with that. I'm not high on Jabari but he's better than Keegan

Mike D'Antoni is available from New Orleans Pelicans.

Reed Sheppard, Amen Thompson, Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Cam Whitmore, Jabari Smith, Tari Eason.

All of their Averages would go up playing a Uptempo Offense. Fastbreak points will come easier. Mike D'Antoni is really needed as a Assistant.
