In a related story, I traded my half of a snickers bar to my roommate for what was left of his supersize fries.

This trade does nothing other than Bill accomodating Bryant and his off-season temper tantrum. Honestly, I would take Bryant's potential over Morgan's any day of the week. I think this will come back to haunt the Cowboys.

Morgan's the better athlete, Bryant's the better wideout.

I don't like the trade although neither player has played to their potential I'd rather have Bryant than Morgan.

What I don't get is Bryant is likely to be third string over there as well and Morgan will be third string over here. So, how the hell does this help anybody?

They had problems with Bryant from the beggining of camp and it was a matter of time before they moved him. He's got good size and talent but hasn't used either while he was in Dallas. Lets see how he does behind Andre Davis and the rest of the crew there.

I just got home and heard this, so I haven't really analyzed everything all that well, but my first impressions aren't that great. I don't remember all that much about Quincy Morgan, but it doesn't sound like he is all that great. Like mentioned, he'll probably be the 3rd WR here just like AB, so I don't know how much better he'll make us.

From the flashes I've seen from Bryant, mostly from year one though, he does seem to have some potential, which I really liked. At least in the 1st few games this season, he look pretty good. I guess if he was really becoming a locker room nuisance, which I haven't heard much about since the incident in the summer, this move may have been necessary, although I will say I could understand him if he thinks he should be used a little more.

I'd like to see how the Cowboys address the trade and see more reports to get a better idea of the trade from their perspective, but I don't particularly like it at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a statement Parcells is making over the off-season incident. Even though they both said it was in the past, Parcells probably wasn't too pleased about having a sweaty jersey thrown in his face but didn't feel he could part with Bryant then based on his receiving corp available at that time. This opportunity came up to get an equivalent caliber receiver and Parcells jumped on it. I personally think it's kind of screwed up that their focusing on moves like this when this is not really an area to be concerned about at all. It's either Parcells putting his foot down or him giving Bryant what he wants. I don't see why it would be the latter. If it is, then Parcells has his priorities screwed up. Or, maybe Bryant still has some kind of attitude problem that is apparent to Parcells that forced his hand. It's nice to know were focusing on trades in a position that isn't really a problem as far as performance goes.

That's true and pretty much what I was kind of thinking about why they made the move. I'm somewhat surprised as to why they waited this long to trade him if he really wanted to make an example of him, although it could have been because of the receiving corps like you mentioned. Then again, he had no problem cutting Ross despite the DB situation last year. Of course, I don't know the real story and maybe he was doing bad things behind closed doors.

Like you mentioned, I also don't really understand why they went with another WR as well. It seems like Glenn, Keyshawn and Witten will get a lot of the touches in the passing attack, so I don't know how Quincy will do for sure. Maybe he was the best available offer, but I wonder if there were any offers on the table involving secodary help or something else that could aid this team a lot more than a 3rd WR.

Glenn, Keyshawn and Witten get touches, but none of them are big threats downfield - neither was Bryant really.

Morgan is a stunning athlete, so he's a threat to go deep each time he's on the field - he's not as consistent as Bryant can be, but he's more likely to make a big play deep.

I'm not a Cowboys fan but I do like Quincy Morgan. He's from the Dallas area(Garland) so I know he's thrilled to be coming come.
I hope he does well. He won a championship at Blinn JC too.

I thought Glenn was a down field threat?

Morgan may have speed, but he has no hands. I don't like the trade. The cowboys took a gamble when AB fell into their laps, and he just didn't work out. Bust for us. I still feel AB has the talent to be a good wr, but who knows if he'll ever get his head on straight. He's not oozing talent like TO to where he can get away with being a world class prick.

Morgan is decent depth at least.

True. I imagine it'd be hard getting downfield when you're tripping over your vagina all the time.

I hate this trade. Bryant was really coming into his own this season from what I saw.

Don't hate it quite as much as the outright cutting of Derek Ross, but I do hate it nonetheless.

Like CriscoKidd said, it seems like Terry Glenn can be a pretty good deep field thread. IIRC, he caught a pass the other day that was the longest for the Cowboys this year. If it is the same one I'm thinking, he actually could have gotten more for a TD possibly, but he had to trip over..um.."something," and he fell down as he caught it. He still seems like a good deep field threat though.

If Quincy Morgan is basically a fast WR with no hands, he basically sounds a lot like Randal Williams. He's got to have better hands that him though ;), however, I don't see why we couldn't just throw Williams out there when he's healthy. (I think he's still hurt. To be honest, I kind of forgot about him until now).

I also had somewhat of a hope for Bryant this year. For the first few games, he was making some nice catches. I seem to remember two of the top of my head: one where he caught the ball for like 7-8 yds, but he pushed ahead for like 11yds and another one where he made a pretty amazing catch going deep. IIRC, on that one he had to make a huge adjustment on the ball because it was more on track for the DB than it was for him, but he basically took it away from the DB. I may be getting him mixed up with somebody else, but I know he at least made some plays this season so far.
