    {note - this was originally a response to the now-locked attempted thread that bought into Sam Smith's latest article, a wetdream that came to the unbelievable conclusion that a severly underachieving and chronically apathetic Eddy Curry would be tradable for Peja Stojakovic}

    (2) - Absolutely, under no circumstances, take an article from Sam "let's make a deal" Smith at the Chicago Tribune and run with it. This guy is an absolute hack that makes Peter Vescey look like Pulitzer. It's probably best that all newer users be forewarned about this clown before the season begins.

Smith, over the next 4 months, will whimsically dream up endless fantasy trades, mostly involving the Bulls dealing scrap for gold. None will have any bearing with reality or be based on the slightest whispers of actual talks. Last summer, he constantly dreamt up trades that would send Garnett on the team.

When you see his pathetic-looking mug next to the article, walk away.

There is NO CHANCE AT ALL that the Kings would even entertain the idea of Sadsack Curry for last year's $7 million salaried MVP second runner up. Even VC, where he is today, is not even slightly tempting. It's very unlikely that Peja goes anywhere; at least until his contract comes up.

When I read it, it sounded more like he wanted the Bulls to make a ridiculous offer (Curry for Peja), then "settle" for a lesser offer (BJax for Curry)...

    Here's the quote:
"Make an offer for Stojakovic, and then perhaps work out something to get the hustling Bobby Jackson. The Bulls could give him the extension the Kings seem reluctant to discuss. The Kings could use a center with backup Greg Ostertag already hurt and Webber still slowed from knee problems."

Now if he means he wants Peja AND BJax, he needs a lobotomy

Dude, what is Sam Smith smoking. Curry for Peja? You gotta trade the whole Bulls team for Peja. That whole team sucks!

I think the deal would be Deng and Curry for Peja but even then id rather have Peja. The Kings might do it to tade an unhappy player and get two young prospects.

curry won't amount to anything. chandler in the right place can become a great asset. if i were trying to trade peja to the bulls i would ask for chandler and hinrich + 2 or 3 future first rounders.

it doesnt sound like much for peja, but bobby jax is already 31 and might leave next summer. bibby is already going bald :p hinrich would be a savior in a few years. c-webb is on his way down and having a shot blocker/rebounder like chandler would be a nice replacement.

webber can allways be traded to the east, esp. for a wing player to replace some of peja's scoring. the knicks are allways interested in stuff like this so lets say webb for kurt and tim thomas.

    How about Peja for:
    Jim Jackson
    Boki Nachbar
    Reece Gaines
    rights to Vassili Spanoulis
    future first round pick

I don't think the Kings are at the rebuilding point just yet. Where would Curry play with BMiller, CWebb and Songaila still there anyway?

JJ is old but at least he's familiar with and has had success in the Kings system so re-aquiring him wouldn't be as big an adjustment for them as getting someone totally new. I'd hate to do that to Jim but having 3 All-NBA players on one team all under the age of 28 would be too hard to pass up.

    KINGS
    SF: Jim Jackson/Boki Nachbar/David Bluthenthal
    PF: Chris Webber/Darius Songaila
    C: Brad Miller/Greg Ostertag
    PG: Mike Bibby/Bobby Jackson/Reece Gaines
    SG: Doug Christie/Kevin Martin
IR: Alton Ford (for when Webber gets injured)

    ROCKETS
    SF: Peja Stojakovic/Ryan Bowen
    PF: Juwan Howard/Mo Taylor/Scott Padgett
    C: Yao Ming/Dikembe Mutombo
    PG: Bobby Sura/Tyronn Lue/Charlie Ward
    SG: Tracy McGrady/David Hawkins
    IR: Derrick Zimmerman/Clarence Weatherspoon

I think Curry could be a good player in the right situation. Partnered with a player like Ben Wallace or an intimidating presence like Shaq - Curry's monumental defensive shortcoming wouldn't be so exposed as they are now - and I've always thought he's pretty good with his back to the basket.
