Everything I said about Sengun is coming to fruition. Teams have adapted, his consistent 20+ PPG days are through. Enjoy his one career all star game. Unless his shooting drastically improves he will ultimately be known as a complementary role player.
Yeah, not the game to defend JG over Sengun. Let's just admit both played like crap and not dump it all on Sengun, who did far more this game than JG. Sengun 10 pts, 13 reb, 4 ast Jalen 9 pts, 0 reb, 1 ast Pretty much, only Holiday showed up as a starter today. Everyone else did not bring it, except Thompson who brought energy but was about as effective as Sengun. Really, might want to start looking at our shooters as to why the opponents keep packing the paint. Because they know we can't shoot, and that is not Sengun's fault, he is frequently doubled and even tripled.
They're not excuses. I think Sengun is playing worse basketball than his 2nd and 3rd year, I also think he didn't deserve to be an all-star this season. But if you watch this game, and think that the problem was Sengun's individual performance and not the offensive scheme the Rockets have (or don't have), then we just have to agree to disagree.
Alperen was not that bad, his shot fell short but he did not force shots. Passed and rebounded well. I think his hustle was ok too. This year he plays best in the fourth quarters and he did not play a single minute then. If he played that period, (Looney had 5 fouls too) it is fairly possible that we would be talking about a 20 point 16 rebound 6 assist game.
imagine saying the reason somebody who is supposed to be the best player on the team is not stepping up is because of the coaches instructions if you’re the best player and have any sort of alpha mentality, you’d tell the guys to give u damn the ball and get the hell outta way and try to put the team on your back, not drop a measly 10 points and blame it on the coach telling u to do dribble handoffs
Yeah, that's part of the problem, right now the Rockets have way too many players who think they're the best, and the sad part is those who think they're the best are not even close to being top 3 players of the team. That's why the Rockets desperately miss FVV and Jabari, not because they are individually great but because they know their roles in the team and play accordingly.
Coming to fruition? Shut your ass up and stop posting. Bullshit hater gleefully celebrating when we lose, go find another forum.
Couldn't agree more, these fake fans out here taking more joy on bad games from our players than they would from wins. Usual people, chirping when everything is going bad yet won't barely say anything when the Rockets win.
Just fyi more communal cultures don’t work this way. You’re taught to respect authority and hierarchy, to know your place, and prioritize community goals over individual ones. This kind of ‘be selfish and assert yourself and go get your own’ thing usually doesn’t fly, it’s almost the exact opposite lol.
He’s gotta get mentally engaged in the beginning of games on offense. You wanna be the guy? Go out there and impose your will especially when no one else has it going. I get trying to get everyone else involved, but set the tempo and others will fall in line.
Oh yeah?? Are you stoopid? Even he scores 0 points, whole NBA and 8 billion people in Earth know that Sengun is this teams Admiral. Imbeciles like you may like to hype raw, zero basketball iq players, but this is pro basketball and played with real players. Sengun is and will not be only this teams one of two best players next to Amen, but the best modern center after Jokic. His unluck is he plays with zero iq players especially Jalen,Cam... some of fans still can not understand it but this team is being structured around Amen and Sengun for future...
Both are not mutually exclusive, it has been a wildly successful season so far and the up and down flaws are pretty evident. Plus Rafael has waited too long on trades again 2 years in a row after the team hit a rough stretch similarly to last season's script.
