Personally, this is the first one that truly hurts

George was never gonna stay here long term and I knew it. Correa was consistently hurt. Cole wanted to be a Yankee, screw him

Bregman, Lance and Jose, I NEVER wanted to see any of those three play a game in another uniform

    F**K

Greatest era in Houston Sports history and we get ONE player that stays long term

    F**K

I’m sad that Alex Bregman will not finish his career with the Astros, but I wish him all the best except when he plays the Astros.

I really thought he would end up coming back

Astros legend. Doesn’t feel like the same team anymore. Wish him the best

At least we got his best years. I still miss Correa more. He bled orange until he didn't.

I can understand why Altuve wanted Bregs back...one of the OGs when we started winning. Springer, Correa, and now his final close buddy in Bregs is gone...he'll feel down but he's a professional.

Appreciate everything he did to help us win 2 championships and have such a long run of success. Adiós Alex and thanks for everything but the salsa!

At $40M he's better off in BOS now. Hopefully, with his situation settled we can add an OF and/or pitcher for ST.

Good luck to him. Didn't like how everything played out but he was a big part of o our success. Will definitely give him a standing ovation when he comes back

Wish him nothing but the best. 2 WS titles and over 8 years of really good, at times elite performance. He was an absolutely critical part of the greatest era in this cities history.

I wish he would have stayed, but I never begrudge a guy wanting to maximize his earnings.

Very sad to see Breggy go. Get that this is a business and wish him well in Boston. Going to really miss seeing this in Stros highlights.

If you told me last season that we wouldn't have Tucker or Bregman back in 2025 I would have thought you were nuts. But here we are.

I started following the Astros in the spring of 1979 when as a child ( turned 9 during ST) I lived in the team's ST hotel with my family.

I remember playing with Natalie Niekro and many other players' kids who I have long since forgotten their names. The players were great and gave me a little attention with a short catch or conversation. Julio Gonzalez gave me a box of baseball cards. J.R. Richard's hand engulfed mine and he was the largest man I had ever seen.

Since then, I have had several favorite players from Jose Cruz to Glenn Davis to Jeff Bagwell to Lance Berkman to Hunter Pence to Carlos Correa.

During the 2017 post season, Alex Bregman snatched my primary fandom from Carlos by his daring defensive plays, clutch hits (ALDS game 4, WS game 5) and attitude.

I honestly feel that he wanted to return to Houston, but not as much as he wanted to be appreciated (it's very common for athletes to view salary as how much the team appreciates, respects, and wants them) and make a legacy of his own away from the Astros. If he wins in Boston, he will be viewed differently than if he continued to be a piece in Houston.

Good bye Alex. Thank you so much for the thrills and memories. I wish you all the best in Boston - except when you play my Astros.
