Please have some media literacy people. There's no actual reporting here that the Rockets are interested. Windhorst didn't mention the Rockets. Read the piece and watch the segment.

The Rockets are only mentioned in a RealGM aggregation saying "various reports have linked teams including the Rockets", referring to the vague innuendo that's been written in the past that turned out to be not real.

I think it'll take 2 frps for Durant. The 25 pick and maybe the 29 pick and FVV would be ok with me if we think Booker isn't going to be traded until his last year. We would still have really good assets to fill out the rosters with really good young players if not stars. In the era of the second apron, mulitiple stars on the same team is going to get harder and harder. Depth and continuing the churn of young players is going to be more and more important, much like it is with MLB teams not named Dodger, Yankees, or Mets. If Durant doesn't make us a contender we don't extend him and have a decent cap situation. It is a gamble, but we've got to take a gamble sooner than later with our youngsters getting extension eligible.

An elite scorer when you need points in clutch situations?

The Rockets don't have a closer.

Again. It depends on what the Rockets have to give up.

I'm not giving up too much to get him. But if you can get him without including the young core the Rockets are developing I think they should.

it makes sense if Stone just didn’t want to disrupt team chemistry during the season

I wouldn't want to give up a lot for somebody at the tail-end of his career. I also worry about the impact of his attitude on an impressionable young core.

where the **** is this “attitude” BS coming from. He’s got a better reputation as a teammate than LeBron at this point.

Didn't know that. All I saw was a guy who chased rings, sulked his way out of every situation, and forced his organizations to make crippling decisions (Bradley Beal being the most recent example).

I'd rather keep the PHX picks. There's no one I would trade those picks for other than Ant/SGA/Wemby/Tatum/Luka.

    1) The Rockets may have wanted to see how this team performs in the playoffs before making a big trade.
    2) If they want to include Jalen in a trade it would be beneficial to until end of the season when his extension kicks in for salary matching purposes.
    3) Phoenix's 2025 pick is currently late lotto with a 7% chance of being in the top 4. They might want to see where the picks lands before including it in a trade even if the chance of moving up is low.
    4) Trading for KD with one year left on his deal should theoretically be cheaper as teams won't go all in for an expiring contract unless he agrees to an extension with them.

For the right price sure. I don't think he should be the top target, but he would certainly be a plug in player and fit an immense need.

Stone should help facilitate KD to MIN and Rockets get Naz Reid in return.

Naz would be such a good fit. I didn't realize how well he'd shot the ball this season until I checked the other day. Thought last season might be a fluke--I guess not. He's legitimately a very good 3P shooter now.

Would help our floor spacing so much.

In addition to 41.6% 3P, Naz also has ability to put ball on floor to get his shot that is elite especially for his size and so explosive downhill, in transition + as cutter. Perfect for Rockets offense.

And 60% TS so he is also extremely efficient too.

Some of you act as if the Rockets have a whole lot of #1 draft picks to throw around.

They have 7 picks in the next 7 years. None in the 2026 draft. 2 in the 2027 draft.

They can't trade this years pick because they don't have one next year.

You give away two of those for Durant and you've made it near impossible to put an offer together should Someone else become available.

It's crazy to cripple your future for a 37 year old rental on a one year deal who is a shell of his former self, doesn't play defense and has been a malcontent everywhere he's been.

I don't think there's a team out there that's going to give them any real value for that contract, they'll get a poo platter of matching contracts and like it.
