I admit I don’t know much about all this stuff so I’m probably wrong. It just seems insane to me. But so does a lot of the world these days.

It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out over the next few years as all the bankrupt RSN deals expire. For my sake as a fan, I sure wish I could pay $20/month instead of $100/month.

Keep in mind baseball likely also has an older fanbase in terms of people interested in watching 100+ games on TV. And that older fanbase is less likely to consist of people interested in streaming.

Reading too much into Miller’s comments:

Ort, Scott, and King are locks for the roster and leaders for the 7th inning role.

Montero and Dubin are very likely to make the roster if healthy.

Whitley still has attitude and work ethic problems but will likely make the roster in a low leverage role. But the Astros are getting very close with being comfortable exposing him to waivers.

Okert and Castro are in camp as insurance and will only make the roster if there is an injury that opens a spot. Walter is a dark horse.

Contreras and Hernandez and the other NRI guys aren’t really on the radar.

Miller expects McCullers to get hurt again as soon as he starts throwing with full intensity and doesn’t expect anything from him.

Sadly based upon the speedy devaluation of our currency over the last several years $100/month is equal to $20 /month in my mind and probably yours as well. I am pissed off every time I spend a damn nickle.

Damn. He actually said Whitley has attitude/work ethic problems? That's interesting, if so.

No, that’s why I said “reading to much into…”. Just the way he spoke about Whitley when asked, his overall tone was “we are going to keep the 13 best guys, hopefully he’s one of them…” as if he was not excited about Whitley at all.

Reddit had an index of links for both home and away broadcasts. It appeared most were associated with gambling site for getting live outcomes for those bets. But the copywrite police caught up with them, at least for a while and I moved on. I haven't been back to see if they were restored.

Ahh, dang. Interesting. Yeah, hell, maybe he's not excited about him.

What is the salary implication if Montero is added back to the 40 man? Does he receive a new contract or just continue getting paid the same as now on his old deal?

His salary is guaranteed and won’t change whether he’s on the roster or not. The only implications are related to the 40 man roster and exposing him to waivers if he’s removed again.

I just realized that if the Astros traded for Arenado the entire infield:

    Walker, Paredes, Pena, and Arenado

Would all be FAs after 2027

I'm 67 and all my friends stream. Young people always equate older people with Dementia ridden older people. I'm sure the biggest demographic for baseball is not 70+. Most seniors under 70 do not have dementia and are more than capable of understanding smart tv and streaming and are involved with it. The much bigger issue is cost and, yes, seniors of all ages are usually more frugle than younger people. In this example, older people would appreciate the lower costs of this solution. True intelligence is a combination of natural ability, experience, and health. Formal education is part of the experience that does impact intelligence, but certainly is not a measure of intelligence. Younger people are high on the health aspect, but less on the experience level.

You also visit a Houston Rockets/Astros message board. The issue is not "no old people ever stream". It's that they don't stream in the same quantities as younger people. That's statistical hard data - it's not random opinion and doesn't have anything do with whatever random rant this is all about:
