At this point, the regular season wins are nice - but the staff is more concerned about in the tournament and believe that this group is capable of peaking later as they are not as familiar with each other. In the long run this type of schedule is better for teams IMO.
Exactly. This year I think it is going to be health and defensive intensity. They have a backcourt that can finally shoot - Sharp is a very good shooter and Cryer can shoot as well. They have Milos as well that isn't a volume shooter but hits open perimeter shots.
Norchad Omier is a beast. I remember him well from when he was with Miami and what he did to us knocking us off a couple of years back. Jwan, Tugler and Javier need to contain him. Baylor is better than their record. Need to contain their 3 point threat.
I would think blocking him out on rebounds would be sufficient. About half of his boards (career) are offensive
Baylor in general has so much talent. Don't really watch them much but they seem better than a 7-5 in the BIG 12 team.
Edgecombe can play. If not for Tre Johnson (UT), he'd be B12 Freshman of the Year None of that means that Baylor aren't a bunch of flopping b!tches
Baylor is getting some favorable calls but they have three or four guys that are really talented. With their starting center out they have no depth. But they can shoot it. Hope we can build a bigger lead. Still worried about Omier. Jwan holding his own with him so far.
Think Positive! Baylor is getting killed on the boards, and has put up 10 fewer shots than the Coogs. That's one of the better 1H I've seen UH play (against a good team) in a while
Dominating performance by the Coogs. The game wasn't as close as the score indicates. No doubt Baylor is really talented, but UH with very balanced scoring and strong defense. UH didn't look like they were pressing at any point. They just played tough consistent ball. They will have to take the intensity up a notch or two in Arizona.
Sharp and Cryer are somewhat hurt, right? eta: I would kill for Sampson to get a bench 7'er, like a Capela. Matchup when needed, crash boards, catch lobs, run floor, no layups
