The agency that has returned 20+ billion dollars back to Americans cuz of bank fraud has been ordered to stop helping Americans and allow banks to screw the world in any way they want.

MAGA is a workers party now!

"Who cares about regulating the big banks so they don't steal your money illegally. The 25+ billion they've returned to Americans is peanuts"

Its sincerely the dumbest individuals in history

Theyre responsible for regulating the entire financial system. They were created literally because the big banks caused the last recession.

What a low society to remove guardrails on the banks. I'm sure bankers have never been greedy

I don't care about this - this actually hits the right as hard as it does the left. If people don't care how much banks fleeced them, they should have votted differently.

    You should care about this

Congress established the CFPB in 2009 in response to the abuses that led to the Great Recession

I remember when they passed the bill.

Anyway, there's no provision of the bill that's like "some bald sack of **** heritage foundation guy can just shut the CFPB down if he feels like it"

Just another hyper illegal act by a fascist regime in post constitution America

    https://www.npr.org/2025/02/08/nx-s1-5290914/russell-vought-cfpb-doge-access-musk
"The union representing CFPB workers, NTEU 335, said Friday that Musk's lieutenants entering the agency was "a clear attempt to attack union workers and defang the only agency that checks the greed of payment providers, as well as auto lenders like Tesla." Musk — who Trump said Monday would be kept from working on areas where "there is a conflict or problem" — is CEO of Tesla and runs at least five other companies, some of which have lucrative contracts with the federal government.

The union also noted that the bureau collects and maintains vast amounts of sensitive information about individuals and businesses, including banks and other financial institutions. It expressed concern that "such legally-protected, sensitive data of businesses and individuals will be exposed and used in inappropriate ways."

"For example, the CFPB has gathered a wealth of proprietary information from big tech payment platforms that could be exploited by someone with a conflict of interest to corner the payments industry," the union said, pointing to a newly announced partnership between Musk's X and Visa.

The CFPB has long been a target of criticism among Republicans, the banking sector, and some in Silicon Valley for its investigations, enforcement actions and fines in consumer protection cases."

This is as close as you’re going to get to an admission that they know they were wrong.

Republicans have been trying to kill it since the day it was created, and it's been so villified that I doubt you'll find anybody on the right who'll even listen to the case for keeping it as the consensus has been determined that it is a corrupt perverter of absolute social darwinism. They've tried pretty hard to kill it a couple of times in the past, before The Donald came back.

It was USAID before USAID. Even without the advent of imperial decrees, this one was probably going to be neutered or killed with Republican control of everything.

MAGA are literally sipping for big banks and billionaires lol. It's so utterly pathetic to think the banking industry doesn't need to be regulated.

Billionaires will not piss on you if you're on fire.

Imagine thinking the agency thats responsible for giving you money is somehow evil. Brainwashed
