Our defense will continue to suck until Jabari gets back. Even then Ime may refuse to start him over Dillon.

 

It's so unreal to me how far the defense has fallen. It's as if the whole identity of the team changed in January and now the temporary fantasy is over.

 

Unfortunately missed the game since I was sleeping, but I’ll stay up for today’s one. I hope our guys come out with fire and fury and absolutely dismantle the Raptors

 

Yes, Alpi did his usual routine of coming out soft and let Anthony Davis eat his lunch. His entire first half performance was embarrassing to say the least. They openly targeted him and he wilted. Poor body language and effort. Missed wide open bunnies and bricked free throws. He kicked it into gear in the 2nd half when Ime came out with the double big line-up. Cam and Reed did awful on both offense and defense. Adams only made 1 shot but he was a big reason we had that fake comeback.

Hearing Rockets held meeting at North Park mall in Dallas after the game.

 

Their bench showed up, big time. Our subs had a grand total of 14 points. The Mavs bench players provided 53 points. Cam Whitmore, Sheppard, and Adams stunk up the joint.

 

Butler is playing great in Warriors.

I am ****ing tired of folks here downplaying star players in the league.

The Warriors were also playing the Bulls. The Rockets smoked them in Chicago earlier this season.

Looking at the box score the key take aways are

Our bench went 4 for 28 which is insanely bad ... but oddly their +- was better than our starting unit, meaning they weren't scoring but they were also holding their own on D better when in.

Offensive for starting unit was good, defense was not. They fouled A LOT. They did not force turnovers. AD tore us up, and the the trio of Christie/Naji/Dinwiddie killed us off their bench

PJ washing lead the game in +- going 1-4, he was an absolute monster on defense



Bench units being streaky is to be expected, biggest thing here is the starting units defense is MIA. Why aren't Brooks, Eason and Amen causing havoc like before?

being down 6 vs 10 in that moment of time is the world of difference in momentum and changes the whole game. Instead of needing 4-5 stops in a row.
