I have never seen someone hate a player the way you hate reed, it’s wild to me. I’m sure there’s a story behind it that i just missed.

I dont hate Reed I am just telling it like it is. When he plays well I praise him when he sucks I tell everyone he sucks. He has been sucking almost every game you expect me to celebrate 3.8 ppg on horrible efficiency for a top 3 pick?

In your world any criticism of Sheppard no matter how valid makes me a hater cuz you love him so much.

The Warriors are rumored to have offered a boatload to get Durant but he didn't want to go there. No guarantee that Durant wanted to come here either.

DB + Jeff Green for expiring Ingram? You want to extend him for a major deal? Maybe he could play better defense under Ime. He's clearly a more dynamic offensive player.

Fox doesn't make sense with JG. He's a high usage player that shoots 33% from 3. Very talented but he's a JG replacement not a FVV replacement.

That said none of these players seem like golden opportunities.

Lol where did you see that i love him? I had never heard of him till like 2-3 weeks before the draft. I despise college basketball. I just think it’s lunacy to call a young rookie a bust after a few hundred minutes. I honestly admire your dedication to the hate though. Same as atw with sengun or fchowd with jalen. It’s fun.

Yep. I really don't see the homerun everyone else is seeing. I see people desperate to make a move after we had a bit of success, none of those moves makes us a contender, so why make it?

My GM philosophy is only make moves if you think they are going to win you a chip. Not marginally better.

Now people will say "Is Amen, Jalen, Jabari, Sengun, Reed, Cam, Tari, any of those guys going to bring you a chip?" Fair enough, my counter is that they are still unknowns. People really don't seem to get most players hit their primes at 25,

Shai wasn't tearing through the league at 21 years old, and look what the Clippers did. Traded him for tier 2 all-stars to win now. How silly they look now.

So, I didn't see the move out there. I wanted to trade Brooks for Durant, for a few reasons, mainly I value vets who have won chips (as FVV has shown) they bring a lot of intangibles to a young squad, especially a HOF player like Durant, but clearly HPX wasn't making the trade or maybe asked for too much, who knows.

And while yes, there is a low chance any of our prospects becomes a HOF player that wins 2 championships for us, I feel like it's a greater chance than Durant doing that for us at his age, or Booker. Those guys are on the SAME team and below us. What does that say about them? Better chance than Fox who only wanted to play for the Spurs any ways. The rest of the guys whatever.

I think it is the right move to watch these players grow and try to get into the playoffs. The post season is always the moment you know, in a playoff series you will see guys who rise to the occasion and realize how good they are or when we really find out "Eh, maybe they don't have it." the playoffs has been a proven ground for young players and I'd really like to see our guys there before we make any definite moves.

Exactly. It’s OK we didn’t go for a blockbuster trade, but we definitely needed to make some move to get a decent baller who can come off the bench to help our offense game. The lack of a decent baller handler who can shoot is the reason we are in a six game loosing streak right now.

I never called him a bust though? Its funny you make up all this **** in your head and think it makes sense.

I dont hate Sheppard everything I say is based on his on court performance, nothing more nothing less. Saying a guy who has been bricking his shots is a shot bricker doesnt make me a hater, it makes me objective. If you can stop your man crush on Sheppard for a minute you'd realize that. You literally said Sheppard is better than Fox and you'd never trade him for Fox. You love Sheppard the most.

    Make it even simpler?

One guy. Not a wing. As soon as the other team packs the paint or goes into a zone that bugs us, this guy comes in and makes 3pters for us unless they come out of the paint.

That's literally it, that's the only actual need we had beyond perfectionism. Just to not make driving harder on Amen and Green than 25 teams in the NBA.

One can see that the team was running out of gas.

Last year it was the same, they were saved by that easy game stretch and Jalen Green going super nova but what are the chances, it didn't work in April.

Two times in row, so chances are he'll do something next year.

Agree. We could definitely trade Tate/Unc expiring contract + some 2nd round picks for such a player in a lottery team.

If only Stone would have listened to you, we wouldn't have such a horrible team with no depth and be on pace to miss the playoffs yet again.

I think Stone gets more credit than he deserves, but we are coming off a very successful first half of the season and I’m glad he didn’t prematurely “go all in” at the deadline.

Jimmy butler - not a fit for this team’s timeline.

Luka & AD - was not given a chance to acquire either player

Fox - Clutch Sports wanted him to be in San Antonio. The Spurs got a steal but I wanted a better shooter.

KD - I’m sure we tried and I’m sure Phoenix was asking for too much.

BI - not a good idea to spend the assets to trade for and then spend the money to sign a guy who can’t stay on the court.

the bottom line: we need a guard who can shoot. That’s our biggest need. Fox would have been a nice add at the price the Spurs got but if you are building around Amen (and Sengun) you can’t add a 3rd piece that doesn’t shoot at a high level. And most assuredly we would have had to pay more than San Antonio did.

Do no harm is better than rolling the dice on less than ideal fits. Book, Young, KD …even Harden may be available this offseason. All guys that can create their own offense and shoot, which is what we need. Some are better fits than others, but the bottom line is there was no “golden opportunity”. I can’t hate on Stone for being patient. If we come out of this offseason without addressing obvious weaknesses then it’s fair to criticize him, but not for standing pat at this trade deadline. Getting a couple 2nd rounders for basically nothing and punting until the offseason is not a bad move.

Why did you expect anything to happen to start with? The rockets FO has made it clear through media outlets that they’d like to see the young guys play out this season.

Yes Fox is overrated. A good PG but not necessarily a guy that puts you over the top.

Yeah if any discussions were made with Suns Im sure it would have gutted our core and
Most likely included any combination of Tari Bari and or Amen.

The extensions don't stop you from trading those contracts if there's a deal worth doing it. We'll just be operating over the cap like every contender anyway. I wanted him to improve the team too but it's not like the window closed or anything. They can still make that kind of trade in the offseason or even next year.

You had me until.you mentioned Harden. Don't want. This off season, I'm floating Brooks and Sengun as trade pieces....I KNOW YOU'RE SAYING, "SENGUN"? Yes, Sengun!

Reason being, this past game against Dallas showed that he is what he is, Sabonis, at classic tweener. Too small for big centers and too big for quick forwards.
