Is there any real scenario where the Houston Rockets could land LaMelo Ball? Nobody on our team comes close to his elite handle and vision. He would instantly take our offense to another level and accelerate our timeline. And at just 23 years old, he fits perfectly with our young core. I don’t care how goofy he seems… that’s just marketing, and he’s incredibly marketable. And even though Udoka has some questioning coaching views, LaMelo would be amazing under him. He’s not getting paid over $200 million for no reason. LaMelo is a legit young star, and from what I’ve seen, the guy just wants to win and compete. So how do we make this happen? Who should, would, and could we give up to get LaMelo in Houston? What are y’all’s thoughts?
I wish. I would build an offer around Green and a lot picks. I wouldn't be against including Cam and Reed either. Lamelo fixes a lot of our issues. He is a true go to guy in the 4th who isn't afraid to shoot. LaMelo, Amen, Brooks, Smith and Sengun with Tari off the bench would be incredible in my opinion. I hope we enquire but I wouldn't expect Charlotte to accept.
Y'all don't have problems with lamelo health but you do with Zion? Melo only played like 10 more games
LaMelo has gotta be one of the prime targets going into this offseason. - CHA’s FO has already signaled they want to tank again next year; is LaMelo going to stick around for that? - He missed the All-Star game as the leading fan vote getter, basically only bc he plays for the Hornets - LaMelo was not drafted or extended by their current FO and ownership group - LaMelo IMO could fit into a winning ensemble, but it’s really hard to imagine a winning culture with him as the #1 guy by himself He’s got obvious flaws ofc, but he’s 6’7, 23, on a reasonable contact until 2029, and one of the 10 most skilled offensive players in the world. He’s not an Ime player right now, sure. But imagine if Ime could work a little magic with him. We know the Ball family has it in them, look at Lonzo.
I think we should trade for both LaMelo and Zion. Every year we'd have a 50% chance of winning the lottery and a 50% chance of winning the championship - basically every fan's wet dream.
doesnt fit the culture in terms of toughness hustle and defense. If the team is trying to win now it would take a while for him if ever to evolve into a good defender. As of now he’s a negative on defense
Fair. Curry's ankles seemed to be a problem at ine time too. Maybe he could get with him and see what he did.
