china and russia have been sabotaging undersea cables using merchant ships to cut the cables causing global internet outages. coincidently, starlink has been getting a lot fluff piece media coverage and on social media there's a bot/rw extremists push for govts to replace infrastructure with starlink contracts. musk has also been accused of aiding putin on the ukraine invasion by providing their military access to starlink.

    not forgetting this:
    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...ted-phone-calls-with-putin-and-why-it-matters
and now trump/musk want the cia shut down.

The Care and Feeding of Donald Trump
Two world leaders just demonstrated how to beat Trump at his own game, and others should follow their lead

Trump forced Europe into capitulation. Now Europeans are going to buy up cheap made American vehicles.

    Its performative

As the article says, the EU imports €8.7 billion worth of cars from the US, or 0.03% of the United States' GDP, while at the same time exporting cars worth €37.4 billion (0.2% of the EU's GDP) in the other direction. Tariffs or not, American cars are just not very popular (or in many cases practical) in Europe.

It won't be massively financial, but this has been a major complaint of US Automakers for a long time.

American cars arent popular in Europe, so I dont know why they would care? This isnt like some big move to put money in their pockets. It feels symbolic.....which I guess that plays to his base? Idk you tell me, Im unsure.

Be optimistic. Maybe an American car company could innovate.

To all the usual liberals in here crying about how tariffs are going to ruin the U.S.. how quick you forget Biden not only kept the tariffs on China, he actually increased them as recently as a year or two ago. Why is this all of a sudden a problem?

Do democrats suck that bad at business and negotiations? This is clearly a threat to bring these countries to the table to push them to carry their own weight and stop sucking the teet that is America and the billions of our tax dollars they receive. Smart, or should I say, logical, people know this. Anyone with common sense, regardless of who you side with, should know this.

Woke people don't think tbh... Basically the way their brains work is they will look at news and find an angle that makes Trump look bad regardless of the facts and or history. They have been wrong for a little over 4 years now about literally everything and continue to double down....

Pointless tarrifs are bad. Targeted and strategic tariffs can be effective. The Tariffs were so horrible even Trump realized it and paused them.

Let me get this straight. You would rather the tariff go into effect?

I never had an option on the tariffs because I suspected nothing would come out of it. Meawhile, you guys were over there banging on about poor people were going to starve to death.

    ^^

holding US government debt will be more expensive, Canada hold 370+ Billions , Mexico 100 Billion, China almost a Trillion, in other words, fear of any mass scale sale will push actual interest rate (yields ) to double digits ( which I think will happen)

In theory if Trump collected 1 trillion $ in Tarrifs) per year, the US Debts still ballon by 3 Trillions.

This is similar how you want a Cyber truck with a property in Florida's 100 amp EBox, not only the truck is bigger than this property and more expenisve but the insurance will have a higher premium than the truck+ mortgage monthly payments combined, most adults wont appreciate that
