Holiday hasnt exactly been balling lately lol. Ever since Sheppard fell off the rotation and Udoka put in Holiday he has sucked ass. If Holiday and Sheppard both cant shoot well then IMO might as well give Holiday mins to Reed. At least you are building for the future.
Holiday played well when he was competing against Reed for minutes at the beginning of the season. Ever since Reed went to G-League, Holiday has fallen off. Dumb fouls, slow on defense, poor wide open shooting, etc. Their is a reason Ime docked his minutes recently and seeing if he can get anything from Reed now.
He also cost the loss last time by leaving DLO all alone on the inbound pretty sure Udoka put him in the doghouse after that.
Once Reed starts hitting 3’s at a +40% clip, all doubt will be forgotten. He plays the rest of the game with grit. It’s just his bad shooting touch that has been keeping him on the bench. The good thing is he’s shooting them now, instead of passing up wide open shots like he did at the beginning of the year. Eventually they will start falling in the basket.
Yeah, with just average guard shooting, he's worth playing. What he's been doing is far below that though
I'd say I was just talking about Antonio's and Rob's comments and never mentioned Reed. Because, of course, I didn't know anybody on the Rockets was injured. Derp. I swear some of y'all just pull stuff out of your asses and then start arguing it. Where did I even mention I or they were talking about Reed? lol.
One thing I like is the pace that Reed plays with when in the game. Hopefully his shot comes around because our offense needs it.
Holiday is rubbish, and he only looks for his shot. It is funny how people attack rookies.......................they are rookies
Some people here are hard taskmasters. If Reed didn't take any fourth-quarter shots vs Brooklyn he would have had 4-9 shooting stats and people here would be saying "Why didn't he take any shots in the fourth?"..............................he goes 1-5 in the fourth and the same people attack him for taking shots. Some fans always attack our rookies every year.
You can definitely see it with this kid. He might take two years, but we are in good hands and he will be the perfect compliment to Amen.
He has been bad and I called him a potential bust, but I want to make it clear that Reed (while still struggling mightily) is becoming noticeably more aggressive. He will never be Curry or even Edey, but I actually enjoy that he is a clean cut hard worker who is without a doubt the best 3 point shooter on a team that ranks as one of the worst in the league. I think by end of the season, if he stays aggressive and gets the PT, he’ll be averaging over 10 points per game. Even though his current numbers are beyond pathetic, I no longer believe he’s a bust and actually think he’s going to turn it around in a big way very soon.
How is he the best when he aint shooting 30%? Dude's shooting worse than Westbrook but he is the best 3 pt shooter? What the hell happened to having the highest 3 pt percentage to be the best shooter?
That’s fair criticism that can’t be argued. But if you had a guy with a gun pointed at you and said you could have one player (on the Rockets) take an open 3 pointer and if he makes it you live and if he misses it you die….wouldn’t everyone on this board pick Reed?
If he continues to get minutes like he should have been all season long, we'll continue to benefit from it and he'll keep getting better and better. There's a lot of "Rockets fans" who are big Stephon Castle fans....a player who has been awful this season despite getting all of the opportunity in the world, well he finally had a good individual game last night (team still lost to Charlotte though)....would that have happened if he was treated all season the way Ime has treated Sheppard? Of course not. Now you see why it's important to develop the young guys.
Castle has been much better player than Sheppard thats why he got minutes. If he been as bad as Sheppard I doubt Castle would have seen the minutes he has had.
I have no doubt that a simpleton who says Sheppard has bad shooting mechanics would think so.... but since you have no credibility in basketball conversations, we can just move on.
