That's one thing people need to realize--he's had multiple back surgeries, you don't do that if you're scared of playing basketball, just want to sit around and play video games, whatever people say about him. His back is/was legitimately f***ed up. That makes him a risky player to commit much to in terms of dollars or assets, but as far as a vet min bench contract, I think it's okay. I don't think he's a bad teammate or anything, just kind of mentally weak and never lived up to his hype. Fine guy to bring off the bench 15mpg though.

He is a solid backup in 2k my league on the rockets. Like a 5 star system match

Exactly. Simmons wouldn’t be a good pickup because we don’t just need someone who can come in 20 minutes a night when Fred is on the bench. We need someone who can start when he gets injured. Simmons plays a 20 minute game like once a month. He’s not the answer for what we need.

Yeah, I'd rather have somebody who could actually start when Fred is out. That said, beggars can't be choosers, and since we elected not to go get a guy like Schroder at the deadline, I really just want us to get somebody. Simmons/Holiday/Amen point guard by committee isn't ideal, but I guess it's a thing

If they are bringing him in, it is to help at PF and C, not in the backcourt. When healthy he can rebound and go off to the races, much like Amen does. The only thing we have going offensively is pushing the ball off of defensive rebounds.

Please no mental midgets. We don't need another non-shooter, would rather play Holiday and Sheppard.

They can't be serious about Simmons right now. Desperately need a grown up who knows offense on the coaching staff.

We don't have a real pg after Fvv , even reed can't play pg, he's a short sg at the moment , holiday is just holiday, one thing Ben can still do is defense and play pg, that's huge upgrade at back up PG, no one wants him to start but he's a good spot starter , his vision gonna help out green Reed Cam Jabari Eason for more easy looks

Having him in that role would be much better. I don't see him as a PG at this stage either, more like a very poor man's Amen.

Again, the Simmons-Udoka relationship is only reason this might happen. Udoka is not without flaws but he is a war time leader + players love him. Udoka has never had a losing season, that speaks to me.

Putting my trust in Udoka. The one thing he will not tolerate are players who don't fight or give it their all.
