Wizards are apparently buying out Marcus Smart and per Sports Illustrated, the Rockets have an open spot and are looking to sign him as soon as the buyout is official within the week. I don’t mind Smart for free as he’s the same age as FVV. Would much rather have Simmons but all indications are he’s not interested in Houston and will end up a Clipper or Laker.
Smh. Ime jsut want nothin but his old Celtic back. Because eh doesn’t have to coach or develop them. Smart does nothin for this team. Celtics fans couldn’t wait to move on for him. It was addition by subtraction when they moved from him. He was the realest of the their guard. Brogdon was better but couldn’t stay healthy. we need shooting. Smart and Simmons lack both
Title should have been: “Rockets hoping to get Smart” I wouldn’t have known if it’s Marcus Smart or the team just learning basic basketball.
I get that relationships matter, but every single coach bringing in his past players has always been an issue for me. JVG Rockets was probably the worst with old ass Oakley, Rod & Weatherspoon among others.
He can't get healthy...I think he played a total of 39 games in the last two years. Grizzles are making a playoff run...if he was going to be useful, they would have kept him. Rather find a good 3 point shooter for the last spot.
Holiday is a better shooter, but Udoka is all about defense and Smart is the Dillon Brooks of point guards defensively.
Where are you seeing reports that Smart is getting bought out and we are in on him? I haven't seen anything, would love to see a source. He would make sense for us though. Udoka connection, fits culture, fits a need. Bad shooter though. Really just a bad scorer in general. But he can run an offense.
He can’t run an offense. Boston fans felt like how we felt when CWood got traded away when he got moved to Memphis.
Marcus Smart is under contract for 21 million dollars next season. He’s not getting a buyout right now. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/player/_/id/15358/marcus-smart
