Udoka plays Fred, Jalen + Brooks more minutes than Alp. He plays Amen too many minutes as well. But as you astutely pointed out it's the usage rather the minutes that are more critical, especially in clutch time.

 

He has to be exhausted. Look at his minutes since he became a starter.

I think Amen might be a little worn down. He's playing a ton of minutes, so it's only natural, but it's been a while now since he has only grabbed 3 boards.

 

No need to panic, if this team is playoff worthy, they should prove it by keeping their position for the rest of the season. If they cannot keep it after those recent losses, then they are not worthy of making it anyway, we can be happy about the progress.

Beyond the fact it's that "time of year" we are ending a tough patch of games with regards to travel and rest etc..

Not to mention injuries and it makes sense we are finally hitting our first "slide" of the season.

You act like Reed missing 4 shots in his 17 minutes is horrible. Yeah, he should just keep taking them and not hesitating. Like I said before, he did have 2 steals and a block in those minutes, so maybe he could have done more defensively if they had left him in.

Yeah, he threw an air ball 4th quarter, then Cam also missed a shot, then Amen missed a shot and then Cam had a shot blocked. Nobody had made a shot when Reed got benched. We were up 98-96 when Reed left the game at 9:22.

Then the defense went to hell in a hand basket.
The Timberwolves scored 31 points after Reed left the game. Hmmmm

Cam only made 1 shot after Reed left, and missed 2 more, so he made 1 shot the whole 4th quarter, missed 3, and had a shot blocked. He didn't shoot any free throws.

Amen scored 3 of 4 free throws after Reed left, and had a shot blocked. He didn't make any baskets 4th quarter. Jalen made 1 shot, missed 2, and had 3 of 4 FT. Sengun had a dunk and 3 of 4 free throws. Brooks made 1 shot.

Same thing will happen when Fred + Bari return as well. Rockets are running on fumes, they all look like hell in 4th + coach has no solution. This team needs ASB badly + I hope players take this time to heal up + the coaches use time to adjust halfcourt offense.

Why don't we ever go zone or try to mix it up when they are hunting Alpi because he is so slow?
