Ime Udoka after Rockets shocking home loss to Nets 2/1/2025

They are missing Jabari. He could've been our answer at center with Sengun out. They killed us in the paint and Claxton with little floaters. Our defense and rebounding are not nearly as good without Jabari even when Sengun plays. Our offense is better primarily because the team is moving the ball more with Amen in the lineup instead of FVV controlling the pace.

I don't care which of FVV, Dillon, or Jabari come off the bench, but Ime should have a quick trigger finger with the starters if they are struggling and have one of those guys ready to go. Last game FVV was controlling the ball too much before he was injured. Amen was not nearly as aggressive with the ball as he should be. I think Amen and Dillon are showing signs of fatigue, which makes sense with the defensive energy they are expending and playing close to 40 minutes a night. Normally neither take a minute of time-off when they are on the court. Last few games I have seen them both stand around a bit more.

Bari has never been the answer at center, and never will be, other than in brief, situational 2 minute spurts.

"Jabari at 5, that is the way" was always wrong.

 

Jabari at 5 is bad. It was bad last year, it is bad this year.

Steven Adams at 5 is a much better solution.

The best solution is Alpi at 5.

 

Look it is literally IME's JOB to get them ready.

If they aren't playing hard, bench em.

For who? Benching they are already short handed. 5-6 guys played terrible last night. Insert Nate Williams?

 

I wasn't implying that Jabari should be traded for Cam Johnson at all. The Rockets will be better off having both of them without trading Cam Whitmore and the rest of the younger players. Johnson is probably worth only one good 1st round pick and 2 seconds plus fillers.

And he should have done just that..including sitting a potential star or two. I don't care how talented one is…it starts with WANT TO… and we have not had that as Ime properly noted. Embarrassing effort for 3 quarters.
