The Rockets are currently 3rd in the west and should they drop below Nuggets and the Lakers, they are looking at a 4/5 matchup with one of those teams. Is there any neutral fan who doesn't think the Rockets are the clear underdog in that series? If you go down the list, Clippers if Kawhi's healthy would likely be favored against us. Minnesota is a weird team but Gobert is a bad matchup for a team like the Rockets who can't shoot. And Warriors just added Butler. If I were fans of these other teams, I would be more optimistic facing the Rockets in the first round over any of the other west contenders.

The Rockets have exceeded all my expectations this year, but they are still a major piece away. Whether that piece is through trade or one of their young guys taking a huge leap forward.

This is absolutely correct. Young teams do not win big in their first playoff experience. Even getting into a full series is playing with house money.

Stone for last 3 months: We won't make any big trades this year. We want to see this roster in the playoffs.
*Trade deadline passes with no big trades*

CF: WTF STONE IS A DUMBASS. HE JUST SITS ON HIS ASS.

Yo ya'll are some of the worst basketball brains I've ever ****ing seen. STFU. The team will evaluate in the offseason after a playoff run. End of story. Jesus.

The inflexibility in light of the drastic changes in NBA landscape between start of season and now invites some agility don't you think?

Not at all. Unless we fell onto a Luka like the Lakers or SGA there's no trades for us. All our guys at 22 or younger are worth keeping over anything other than a true blue chip Superstar, at least until we see one playoff run.

I am definitely not part of the we should’ve traded some young guys for a star or whatever else people have illusions about. I do however feel we could’ve traded for a serviceable shooter rather than trade for 2 nobodies - literally - and potentially going after Ben freaking Simmons.

I also am definitely not under any illusion that we’re actually the 2nd / 3rd best team in the West and we definitely won’t be soon when we drop to potentially as low as 6 / 7th. Making the post season was the goal and of course we now have higher expectations, but a competitive 6-7 game series would still be a very successful season.

2nd round or higher would be amazing and overachieving for sure. There are of course other factors like who’s playing well, why did we lose or win. And I personally don’t want a star to come in and make it seem like Ime is somehow a genius. He’s not. He’s very good, but our offense and his time out management leaves a lot to be desired.

Letting this all play out is the best thing for us and if we’re serious about adding Zeller or Ben Simmons to the rotation, then be my freaking guest, but don’t expect me to be happy about it.

What a bunch of BS from the Rockets. The team is not functional in an area, we're horrible at TS% and 3PT% and it's affecting all our drives. Just fix the obvious problem.

Gosh we really need a lead assistant these guys don't seem to have any idea what to do with the shooting.

This is the problem though. There is no advantage in leaking what you will or will not do. Plus it’s not an honest statement because if the Suns offered Book he would have made the trade.

    Lakers look scary

they were already looking pretty good before stealing Luka for Always Down, Max Christie, and a pick

I have them as the 3rd best team in the West right now behind OKC and Denver, and they are 1 decent starting big man away from being a true contender

Memphis has assets to get even better in the offseason if they want to, and so do the Spurs to add to Wemby and Fox…OKC and Denver aren’t going anywhere

if the Rockets sit on their hands yet again this summer, they will continue to fall further behind the rest of the pack

Did you really just say Gobert is a bad matchup? He's been played off the court in all the games we played against them. Literally they only beat us cus he went to the bench.
