I have confidence in Stone, but "best thing" is an incredibly high bar.

What trade did you want to see? Suns said booker isn't available. Only player I saw going around that I wanted was De'andre hunter but he is redundant with Jabari Smith Jr. Stone isn't stupid like some people on this forum, he isn't going to throw away a bunch of draft capital and prospects when they have barely had any time to develop.

2 year rental of Kevin Durant before Amen/Green/Sengun have hit there peaks isn't going to do much for us especially if the Suns demand their picks back. The OKC thunder also didn't make a bunch of moves during their rebuild and look how developing their in-house talent turned out.

Taking a page out the OKC playbook...collect other team's draft picks and hope they suck so we can draft in the lottery.

The two moves to pick up a few SRPs by leveraging the MLE are the types of moves that Stone has been lacking in the past, so they are solid moves; however, it feels like a consolation prize as the Rockets did not use the MLE in the offseason to address the serious lack of shooting/scoring and the hole at backup PG.

I get staying the course and being patient, but I wonder how aggressive Stone was in addressing the aforementioned weaknesses of this roster. Given the potential price, a few smaller moves could have had a huge impact on this season, and potentially going forward. If these issues are not addressed in the offseason, then I will have little faith in Stone to make trades.

Overall, we improved our position for the future albeit only marginally, but these small moves add up. Outside of LA, and to a lesser extent San Antonio, all these moves by other Western conference teams were shortsighted, and misguided due to all these teams believing they have a shot at reaching the Finals.

Yeah we didn't NEED anything major just a shooter, he's a real idiot for punting on that. Made our second half harder than it has to be. F*cker.

Shooting has nothing to do with changing course, it's just fixing the one flaw in the roster construction.

Stone traded a lot of SRP in 2023-2024. Morey did not leave an Infinity Cupboard full of SRPs. Those SRPs came from mostly Stone refilling the cupboard before emptying it. He's just refilling it, again.

He's big on keeping dead weight and not improving the team in any way at the trade deadline.

Reed is a good shooter, Jabari is a good shooter and FVV has been shooting better. It just sucks that they are injured and can't play until post all star break. Which shooter would you bring in that was traded this deadline?

Misguided or not, you will miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

how many times did Stone ave to say the Rockets were going to sit this deadline out; give this team its opportunity to prove how far it could go?

Let's be realistic, we're one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA. We simply don't have enough good shooters even when fully healthy except when we're on fire.
