Using your logic, you wouldn't want another Amen Thompson?

He would be a big help to improve our 3 point shooting

    unique talent

    very good defender

    great in transition

would gladly take him for remainder of season or for a multi-year small deal with some of all of what is left of MLE

So if you look at Coach Udoka's career 3 pt %.... acquiring players in his image? (i.e. solid defenders)

Although he did have one decent year and one REALLY good year as an outside shooter

Nah. The way we play and given his limitations, he'd be a backup for Sengun to counter small-ball lineups.

Am sure Udoka would love to have Simmon's work ethic rub off on the young guys, something that took him two years to rebuild from Silas.

Nope. You can only have so many wings in your rotation who can't shoot.

The Rockets aren’t going to solve their shooting issues via the buyout market. If the Wizards buyout Malcolm Brogdon, I’d imagine he would be among their top targets for the backup point guard role. But, either way, Aaron Holiday doesn't cut it as VanVleet’s backup, and Reed Sheppard is not ready to run an NBA offense. Either Brogdon or Ben Simmons represent upgrades to the Rockets’ bench.

Ben Simmons on a minimum? hell yeah! Surely he'd prefer playing in Houston over Cleveland, right?
He is a perfect fit next to Cam. He is scared to shoot and Cam can shoot enough for 5 people.

Simmons could be used in either role. You could play him at center in Sengun’s role as a high-post passer, or as a point guard with some combination of Green, VanVleet, Brooks, Eason, Whitmore, Sheppard or Jabari Smith Jr. as the other four players on the court with him because they all can space the floor.

He is joining as a vet min not as a leader to the other guys. In fact the work ethic of the young players might influence him instead.

He won't even get minutes. Just a body for when we are injured

Reminds me of KPJ, where Stone feels like he can 'absorb', fix and rehab people.

The 3pt non-shooting, 'mental' part is one thing, I just don't think he's healthy.

Brogdon would be coveted by few teams.
