If Durant does not get traded today, the Suns are truly stupid. Make no mistake, Durant asked for a trade in private or the Suns would not have shopped him. He told them Yimmy or bust guys, this is not hard or even speculation. His value is going to be much less this offseason as a rental. Wait until you see how bad Suns look with a disgruntled Durant the second half of this season. I expect him to have an "injury" sabbatical. I expect our lottery pick to get a lot better. That’s not what you do. You wait until these picks are set one by one if you have to. You then trade it for a player that you want or trade it for more pick(s) in the future, or if it’s someone you feel like will improve the team like a top 4 pick or a older player in the draft.

The suns will in fact suck this season and into the future. They have lost 3 straight and have the hardest remaining schedule in the NBA. Good luck with that.

 

I agree that I doubt KD requested a trade.

Much more likely that the Suns realized they could have traded Durant for Luka if they had just asked Nico (This would have sucked). They called other GMs to see if there was a second Nico out there.
