Roy Oswalt got thrown out of the game where he hit Michael Barrett in Houston without a warning so it can and does happen
Good point...but He hit Kent with a slider in the dirt...not a fastball in the back...so maybe thats why he didnt get tossed
Not really. The Cards were down a run, and Tavarez had Kent down 0-2 when he hit him on a pitch below the waist. You don't force a runner into scoring position when you're down 1 run in the bottom of the 7th in a LCS game with the hitter in the hole 0-2. The HBP on Kent was pretty clearly a result of Tavarez no longer having control of his pitches, not Tavarez throwing at Kent. It's more ridiculous that LaRussa didn't take him out at that point.
The World Series doesn't even start until the 24th. We'll finish this series on the 21st at the latest. So there will be plenty of rest.
I think the world series starts on Saturday: Game 1 NL Champion @ AL Champion Saturday Oct. 23 7:30 p.m. FOX
Thanks...its very confusing between the TV grid on the chronicle, the astros site and all of the other outlets I check. One thing will say 7...another will say 735...its ridiculous
yeah although I've recently wised up to the fact in this cardinals series..... that the first pitch is usually 30-40 mins away from the alleged game time so about 7:30-7:40 is about right. damn fox
SportsCenter just validated you guy seconds ago, saying he has two broken bones in his hand, good call, but they said he still can go tonight. We'll see though TLR might just be blowing smoke about him being able to go though.
Tavarez broke a bone in his non-pitching hand... they're going to work with it and see if they can do something to make it comfortable for him to throw... like they tried to do with Kevin Brown in NY (who was unable to go w/out really resting it).
even if Tavarez can pitch, I wonder how his "mental state" is we've seen pitchers fall apart after a f'd up outing like that
