Stone can't make any trade without the approval of ownership...the 2nd apron has Tillman cautious of making any big swings unless they're certain will make the WCF or NBA Finals...the Rockets are taking a slow methodical process on building our team, which is wise given LeBron, Steph, and KD are not dominating the league and can't create SuperTeams given the new luxury tax structure.
They were trying to trade him to the Warriors and already had him listed as out when the trade fell through.
I don't want Zion, LaMelo, any of these guys who miss like half or more of their games. After the Yao/McGrady era I've had my lifetime fill on being like "if only we were healthy enough we could really make some noise in the playoffs..." If you can't count on a guy to be available at least 2/3 of games he's eligible to play in, his value takes too big of a hit to really be thought of as a star player IMO. Even Kawhi Leonard played in 70% of his teams' games during his 20s. I think some posters here are looking at the per-game numbers on paper and looking at the guy's highlights and ignoring the actual reality on the ground for guys like Williamson--which is much more like what we've dealt with regarding Tari Eason the past two seasons.
Some people here are like Fk No we don’t want KD…. the rockets are like 10-0 when Jalen scores 29 points or more…. KD would probably average that here and provide weak side defense. Yall trippin.
At this point, i don’t want them to make any significant trades this season. We have already overachieved this year, and hopefully it leads us to a playoff spot. Even if we lose in the first round, it’s a very successful season. The summer would be a different story, the problem though is a lot of these targets are now off the board. Who would we go after in the summer if Booker is not available?
KD is guaranteed game closing scoring. Let the youngins keep you in the game and then take over in the 4th.
No doubt Stone would pull the trigger on Durant if the asking price was correct and Phoenix AND Durant ok'd the trade. Could very well be that Durant has told the Suns he doesn't want Houston. More than likely is that they want all their picks back plus a couple of players with upside. As much as I would like Durant this year and next, I wouldn't pay that price.
KD turns this team into an instant contender. Without a question. A lineup of FVV Jalen (or whoever if Jalen is traded) Amen KD Sengun Is elite. Didn’t even mention the bench.
