Why would you give up a better player in Eason to acquire Amen’s brother? Eason is Ausar Thompson with a decent outside shot.
NBA is all about the playoffs. And if we’re being honest, a team of Butler, Steph, Draymond and Kuminga is beating the rockets in 5 maybe 6. I’m okay standing pat if Stone really has something up his sleeves in the offseason. We’re exceeding expectations as is, so maybe we just sit back and enjoy the wild ride.
Even without Jimmy Butler the Rockets wouldn’t beat the Warriors in a 7 game series. It took them years to finally beat them one time by one point.
Yeah I’ve been saying this. The playoffs most likely will be brutal for Houston. The 4th quarter offense is so awful. They don’t have a guy that can routinely just score when needed. They basically are missing their star. People shouldn’t be upset if they get bounced quick in the playoffs though. They are so far ahead of schedule.
Ausar is a talent. Eason is a role player. Are you serious? Ausar might be better than Tari Eason today, let alone in a few years.
The Suns are definitely going to crumble. They are literally the most expensive team in the league and are currently sitting pretty at 25-25 (0.500). The owner is not going to tolerate paying hundreds of millions of dollars per year to barely make the play in then lose in the first round. Just like how the Mavericks owner didnt want to pay for a fat injured luka doncic.
Only because of Eason's injury risk, but that's not a bad trade. It would hurt us this year, but Ausar was the better shooter of the twins comng into the league. Both he and Amen will improve their shooting and if he plays defense anywhere close to Amen it would be a win for the Rockets. I love Tari, but have real concerns that he will be another Mark Williams or Lamello Ball in terms of staying on the court.
They will crumble, but when? If they won't trade Durant and Booker this year our assets just went down by one pick and Durant becomes just a one year rental which we won't want. I think the Butler trade made a Durant trade more likely, but if they are stupid enough to think they can make a run with their current team then their GM is just as stupid as the Mavs.
They are going to crumble after this season in my opinion. KD is going to get moved in the offseason because he won't resign as a Sun if they aren't even borderline contending. Also I highly doubt the owner is going to go into next season with most expensive team on the planet barely able to make the playoffs. They are already entertaining trade talks so that tells us that the team is ready to break down and rebuild. I don't want Durant that much unless its for a good deal. Booker is 28 and would fit seamlessly into our core and help us contend for the next 5+ years. I believe Stone is looking to build a contender for a decade, not just for 3-4 seasons on a rental aging star.
Ausar, like Amen, is an awesome defender. In fact, Ausar might be a hair more impactful; Amen is much less of a liability on offense though (credit to the Rockets coaching staff for empowering him too). Some advanced stats (RAPM, EPM) have Ausar as the #6 best defender in the entire nba. You can check here for detailed stats. Would imagine that the Pistons considers him to be untouchable.
I agree the Pistons wouldn't trade him for Tari. I was just responding to the post. I would give up Tari and the 25 Phoenix pick for him, since Phoenix is holding to their idiotic guns. Still think the Pistons decline.
Clearly, the free birds was alluding to the Springer Spaniel, which is an exceptional bird dog breed.
