Only trade I want to see is KPJ from the Clippers to the Griz. Then we'd be assured of the division title.
Being ahead of schedule is credit to coach + players, does not mean FO stop doing their jobs. Celtics + Thunder search under every rock for external upgrades while continuing internal improvement.
At this point, looking for a deal with Suns (Durant or Booker) or Bulls (White or Ball + Jalen Smith)
Have to keep FVV and then have to sacrifice Brooks for trade filler. Brooks Jock Jeff Springer 2025 First Best 2027 first 2030 Boston 2nd For Durant Sengun/Adams Amen/Smith Durant/Eason Green/Cam FVV/Reed
Dallas is not going to get any worse cause Luka had missed a lot of games anyway, Davis will bridge the gap this season to keep them in the playoffs. Lakers are better imo. Warriors are better. Spurs are better. Kings are clearly worse but you can tell they will fight and they have a rim protector now for the first time in 4 years. Silver lining: a lot of teams in the West going through chemistry issues, a couple of teams close to losing hope and our schedule is like 6th easiest post ASB. We might even benefit from all this. I think we need a fortifying trade. Springer will only compete for minutes with Whitmore, will barely make a difference, another defender who can't really shoot. We need a big shooter whether a role player or star doesn't matter, we need it anyway.
Trades are fun. But I wouldn’t want to do something dramatic that hurts us in the long run. warriors with butler isn’t gonna be a threat for long. we are in the shotgun seat next to okc for the future of the west.
It's not about all that right now at least, we've just had catastrophic spacing and have never seen our core with just average spacing to see how much they can get to the line, collapse defenses, etc in a normal setting. It's the only reason Jalen takes so many 3's and Amen gets 7 or 11 or 8 points sometimes. It's not a fair situation to judge our young players in if that's what we're trying to do. We're still like bottom 5 in TS%. Improving that will reduce the need for rebounds which will reduce fatigue and make energy available for defense. Right now they are having to expend more energy than most in getting to the rim. It's too much energy required for Ime's offense + defense even for the greatest athlete in NBA history it seems. We have elite athletes with great work ethic, if it's too much for them it's too much for everyone in the league. It's a major inefficiency in our offense, costing us games right now imo. Look at Memphis they are also an offensive rebounding team, but they understand that going that hard requires limiting minutes so they made it part of their philosophy. We can go many ways with a solution. What we can't do is just expect this to work and hope hot streaks last longer than they should.
Cam Johnson completely off the table for Rockets? High IQ, switchable 3P sniper should be priority for FO.
