And this is a false analogy. Struggle is not alien to winning teams. And the pattern of losing double digit leads due to poor half court offense is indicative of a weakness that will be further exposed in postseason when game traditionally slows down.
The pattern is despite their struggles they still win in the end enough to be the 2nd seed despite a tough schedule (Rox have one of the weakest schedule moving forward). If KD is such a cure all why PHX trying to trade him for Jimmy Butler? I guess PHX didnt get your memo. You dont even know what it would take to get him. FVV will need to be used you think losing our pg makes the half court offense better? lol
Hahahah. Zion is not what I want in a professional player. Injury prone and off the court issues. Not reliable either way.
Even at his age I think KD is better player than Booker or at least similar tier and a great fit for this team. However, he's only under contract through next year so while he might cost less than Booker we'd possibly only have him for one full season. Booker contract runs for three seasons beyond this one. You pay more for Booker but he's still in his prime and won't be rental. What would you consider "a little" for KD? Because even just the draft capital we have looks pretty valuable. Phoenix and Brooklyn are not good teams. The 2025 pick is currently late lotto and the 2027 picks have a decent chance of being early or mid lotto. The 2029 picks from Phoenix and Dallas look like pure gold IMO. Would hate to give those up for a 36 year old player, even a great one.
That goal has been revised based on current situation. Focusing on old goals that have been exceeded misses out on real opportunities to excel in postseason.
I get the value of having a guy under contract for multiple years... But there's no guarantee that Booker wouldn't be a rental. If he's unhappy here all he has to do is request a trade. Pretty much every star that requests a trade gets their wish....and a lot of them get to do to the team they want to be on.
That's the wrong way to set goals. If your goals keep changing why did you even make one in the first place? If the Rox failed your new goal but exceeded your old goal did they succeed or fail? Imagine your boss sets sales targets for you then when you achieve them you get bad performance review cuz your boss suddenly doubled your target? Thats not a smart way to run things.
to me, a little for KD is like 1 of our lesser/more expendable young players like Cam/Tari, 2025 pick, and another protected pick still gives u more than enough left to trade for impactful players in the future
