Happy for reed. But at last 3 pt attempt he needs to pass. It was a free basket.

I was glad to see him show signs of life out there. I'm confident he's going to get things going. I really wish he'd reliably knock down those wide open threes though. One of those would have made the difference.

No. Just no. Jamie Jacuez had more rookie of the year votes and 1st team votes than Amen last year. That’s essentially the same thing as saying the wizards would rather have Jacques than Amen as Dalton than Sarr. WTF are the Wizards going to do with an almost 24 year old Dalton???? They need upside players with a chance of being great. Then down the road they will get (and much easier) a player(s) like Dalton. So no you are flat out wrong on this one. You’re not wrong because with 100% certainty Sarr will end up better than Dalton. But there is 99.9% certainty that Sarr has higher upside than Dalton and obviously that is what the Wizards want and need.

There is no need to reply with anything on this. The assertion is ridiculous and you’re not going to change my mind.

Players being good doesn't matter what age they are.

The players like Kispert, Johnny Davis, Bagley, Kuzma will leave by the time the Wiz stop
F'in around and finding out whether Sarr and Reed Sheppard can play.

There is no guarantee that a 19 year old will make it in the league.

    Reed shot
    37% from 3 in highschool
52% from 3 while coming off the bench in college.....1 year
    32% from 3 now.

Reed is getting minutes now because Holiday is no longer shooting over 40%
from 3, now shooting 33% in last 6 games. Jimmer Fredette shot 36% his rookie year
from 3 and hasn't made it.

Problem with your thinking is, you are thinking 19 year olds are guaranteed success
while the 23 year olds are more proven and thus less element for surprise.

Leon Smith was drafted as a 19 year old in 1999....had mental problems and didn't make it.
More risk comes with younger players, esp 19 year olds. Spurs draft pick 1st round went to Dallas.

Our very own Royce White was 20-21 years old when we drafted him in 2012. Found out later
    he has issues.

Another Dallas Maverick Tyrell Terry was drafted as 31st pick in 2020 as a 20 year old.
Has since retired due to anxiety.

Reedlings would rather see Sheppard play than to see the Rockets win.

Is there someone still pushing the Dalton Knecht BS? LOL, that's embarrassing.

That's almost as bad as people pretending Stephon Castle is a good player.

Anyway, back on topic, Reed finally got the kind of opportunity he should have been getting all season, hopefully it continues.

The defensive effort was great. He took care of the ball. A few shots fell. All in all, it was a promising performance. I need those open threes to fall more consistently though. Let's hope he can keep improving with more reps.

Considering the team needs shooting and guard depth in the worst way, getting Sheppard more minutes will help him develop and contribute to the Rockets winning.

It's only an either/or if you're still clinging to a pre-draft opinion trying to save face.

Half-way into a rookie season and already getting busty huh... the song and dance sounds so familiar!

You guys and your arm chair GM'ing has really ruined the GARM and even more so on X (Twitter).

Reed got extended minutes because he was knocking down shots early and impacting the game on both ends. He hasn’t been doing that before.

It wasn’t random. The team needed a spark and Reed was playing well.

Sigh you still responded and refuted nothing. Yes my friend I do in fact know that younger players are inherently more risky. A team like the Wizards is not risk averse they need players like Sarr a 7’ foot tall (top 10 in blocks per game at 19) they can draft and acquire a player like Dalton down the road.

Also who gives AF if Kuzma leaves down the road? I don’t even understand why you even mention that.

Reed flat out needs to play 25+ minutes a game at least.

He's only 20 years old and his motor won’t stop so minutes aren’t an issue.

The more he dribbles and has the ball, he will get more comfortable with his role and I can really see him becoming an above average passer and elite shooter that will space the floor for any lineup.

Just gotta give him regular 25+ minutes a game.

And got to let him find his own like all the other rookies have.

As an aside, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a showcasing for a trade, maybe even Booker.

Agreed, there were a few really annoying misses on shots he rushed, but with opportunity, I think that'll clear up. I'm not at all concerned about his shooting in the long run.

To me the bigger thing is how he's been a positive on defense all season.... despite Ime not seeming to realize it. That was a perceived weakness by some, but that hasn't been the case thus far.

The kid got in his own head and wanted to play hero and forgot that basketball is a team game for a second there. I'd consider that as a costly mistake as Amen's pass, even though Amen's pass led directly to the game winner.
