This guy has all the tools and talent ,but is inconsistent because he's a mental midget and soft. Done with him. I want him to do well while he is with the Rockets, but if they move him i would not be upset.

The thing about Jalen is he has no bag. He relies solely on his athleticism and speed to get his buckets. Even watching Diangelo last night it’s night and day. He can get separation at anytime to get his shot off. Same with Brunson. Same with Ant. Same with Tatum. Same with Luka. Same with Kyrie. Same with.. I can go on and on. These players can go into their bag to get it done.

The point is, we’ve seen too many times where we need a bucket and Jalen is at the top of the key doing whatever dribble move he thinks he has and it doesn’t fool anyone. And even if he does get by his defender, he tries to do all these finesse lay ups because he’s not strong enough to take the beating in the paint.

Don’t get me wrong, he is a talent. He’s made some incredible shots. He just is who he is at this point. And we need a player who can be a closer. He’s just not that guy.

Real question: how many FRPs would a team give up for Jalen Green? And who has more value right now, Cam Whitmore or Jalen Green?

Come on, man. Jalen Green has way more value than Cam Whitmore.

So then...what do you think their value is on the market in terms of picks? What is Jalen worth and what is Cam worth?

Jalen had a rough game. It seems like he's struggling to know what to do as the de facto PG and lead guard. Too much thinking out there and he's getting a different type of defensive attention as the main ball handler.

If we are using picks and only picks

Cam Whitmore: Top 10 protected FRP

He would probably be a part of a deal (ex: How Collin Sexton was used in the Mitchell trade)

Jalen Green: 1 tier 1 FRP and 2-4 tier 2/3 FRPs

He would be the main piece in a deal involving a star player

Spurs got back 3 FRP's from ATL and Green has a higher trade market than Murray due to Green's upside and flashes of potential.

Frankly I can't think of a time a player with Green's upside paired with his flashes of poor play has been traded, but people pay a ton for potential. Green is 22 and has shown enough flashes that he could be a top tier SG in the league. This year he has shown more sustained high level of play to show that it could be more of a real trend upward than just a hot streak. Green is not some scrub like some members on here make him out to be. Even if some team offered that for Green, Rockets would decline it.

Jalen Green does not have PG instinct. It took him more than 3 years to learn to make below average reads. I wouldn't waste time experimenting him at the PG spot. Let him concentrate at scoring.

Amen isn't a natural PG either. But he has high IQ and fast processing speed. It's worth trying to develop him. But since he is so versatile, I'd say just let him play positionless basketball, doing whatever needs to be done.

Of all our young players, Reed is the most natural PG material.

He needs to learn to yell or flop, otherwise refs swallow their whistle

Reed has 0 pg IQ, what are you watching ? He doesn't even bring the ball up , let alone when he did he came and chucked a 3 or shot with 45 seconds instead of slowing it down to waste time, it had 18 seconds on the shot clock, dude couldn't even pass an allyoop , he was a back up small sg in college, and ime don't trust him to run the offense or even get reps, he in the game cause he can shoot and play defense being undersized

If someone is willing to trade 3 first round picks for Jalen I'd do it in a heart beat. I think cam had more value cuz of his contract. Jalen at 100 million I think is a negative asset. Wouldn't be surprised if we had to trade a first to dump him.

Spurs traded Murray at the perfect time. He made the all star team and had his best season ever. Which if you look at the metrics is way better than any season Jalen has ever had. He's afar superior defender too and he was only making 15 million at the time. Plus I gotta imagine teams will learn their lesson as that was such a failed trade,

Three first round picks and he is GONE. But 3-5 first round picks is a ridiculous price for Jalen and would never be offered, at least not with the Jalen we have seen so far. I'd do two first round picks and possibly one if it's top five in this draft (depending on who is available). More likely we would trade Jalen for the superstar that we are seeking.

Agreed. But even Reed is not a playoff ready backup PG.

    Yet.
