Reed definitely passed the eye test tonight for me. Defense, ball handling , motor all looked good.b I still don't understand his shooting woes. He appears to get it off fast enough to my eye and the mechanics look fine. At least he hit a few tonight.
Actually I'm not sure if this tops the meltdown vs GS in one of the playoffs. When we bricked 17(?) 3s in a row if my memory serves me right
I think Reed showed enough tonight for Ime to trust him. He was aggressive and looking for his shot, and started the 2nd half. Exactly what we wanted to see. I think he’s back in the rotation now, as long as he just lets it fly.
I saw Reed got interviewed...but no one asked him about that bad 3 point attempt. I wonder if Ime even said anything to him. No wonder this team such low basketball IQ without Fred. They let dumb crap like that happen with no acknowledgement.
Sometimes I wonder if his shot is a little rushed because of the speed and length of NBA players. He will overcome that with reps
Why didn't any of the Houston sports reporters ask Ime why Reed and Jalen shot those 3s? Same 'ol crap with Houston sports media. Cowards who get paid to ask the most generic questions.
It doesn’t really matter right now because it’s all house money but I just don’t see how this team wins in the playoffs. Their crunch time offense is really really bad. This team desperately needs a go to guy.
I had bowling about to watch it now, but saw the last 9 seconds, not sure what Amen was doing there. DD
Yep he choked. He had a really bad game with turnovers. The game before he was absolutely all world. There was plenty of blame to go around, but the one guy who screwed this game up was Ime who does nothing but publicly callout his players and takes absolutely no accountability for his actions. Amen has more 5 second violations passing the ball in than anybody I can remember, so why is he tasked with it every time? Who draws up the inbound plays that we constantly suck at? Everybody saying FVV would save the day has had an absolute brain fart when it comes to how many hero ball screwups that have costs us numerous games this year. One of which was a week ago. The fact is we have two vets that are rotation worthy and a bunch of over performing 22 years old that are bound to be turnover prone. The answer is not to bench them, it is to get better vets and an offensive coach that can influence Ime to improve.
Amen got a 5 second inbound violation earlier in the game. I bet that was in his head when he botched it at the end. Hopefully Ime will learn to let someone else do it from now.
Bad loss. Turnovers and free throws. Tighten those up and this is a win. Good teams don't beat themselves like that very often. They're going to bounce back, but they need to learn those tough lessons from these bad losses. They're better than that.
