If you hadn’t turned it off, who knows what would have happened… This game made me so mad that I am going to go out and punch a donkey.
This Rockets team has wins to play with right now. At the beginning of the season if you were to tell me they'd be 32-18 after 50 games we'd all take it. No way was this team winning their division this year, and best they could hope for is 4th seed. The only thing this team is good about is making the playoffs (no matter what seed) and get battle tested a bit. This Rockets club would have a hard time beating any playoff bound team (Phoenix, Sacramento, even the Spurs could beat us in a 5 to 7 game series). That doesn't matter other than being able to play a few more games in the post season if we got past the 1st round. These last 32 games are meaningless to Ime and the Rockets. They will use this time to shuffle their roster, plug and play where they can and see what they have for next year. Anything on top of that is a bonus, and that's exactly how I'm treating this team.
I swear. Some people must have been asleep during the Silas years. We are lucky to have a coach of Ime’s caliber, and our record shows it.
Rockets literally are a Lottery Team without Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun. Very disappointed in Amen, Jalen, Dillon Reed Sheppard shocking bright spot tonight.
It doesn't matter really. We are too inconsistent to shoot well enough throughout the playoffs. Somebody will knock us out before the finish line.
We don't have to blow up our core to get KD...Brooks/Whitmore/2 Suns FRPs should be suffice, but I agree with you anymore then it's a no deal.
Basketball gods gave us that win against cleveland, then took this win away from us. Fine to move on to the next one. Whoa Reed played 28 minutes today? Did Udoka get hit on the head?
Could you imagine several years ago, the Rockets lucking up and beating someone they had no business beating and fans for the losing team whining on how their coach got outcoached by Stephen Silas??!! LOL
Depending on the deal, we could probably get KD without breaking up our young core. We're not getting Booker...I can see the Suns wanting to trade KD to us to get their picks back so they can attach some FRPs to Beal in order to move him to a team that he agrees to a trade.
The way the team lost today really screams of the team isn't ready yet. From coaches to the players they all need to make better decisions. 1. I don't understand why all the players were bunched up together like they are 8 year olds all wanting the ball. 2 Why wasn't a time out called immediately to advance the ball? 3. Even up four they could of fouled to make it a free throw game, I don't understand why teams in this day and age let other teams have a chance considering the way players shoot the three these days.
Probably, given his dumb decisions at the end of the game. He pulled Reed for Holiday for defense....only for Holiday to immediately get smoked on defense, the same "defensive subs" that never got a stop and turned a 4 point lead into a 2 point deficit in 10 seconds. .
Negative. We play to win, plus losing hurts confidence...I see us making moves to upgrade key positions, but the young core aren't getting traded. However, after the season Jalen Green will be our best tradeable asset.
I think @Patience said it best - this team is still a work in progress and still very young. We have gotten spoiled by how good they can become (Cleveland, Boston, OKC, Memphis 3 times, etc.) but we aren’t going to win the NBA finals this season. Just focus on continuing to learn what it takes to win in this league and avoid major injuries as much as possible. Yes, I had the Rockets winning about 55 games this season but 48 might be the actual number and with how competitive the west is, that may still be good to avoid the 7 through 10 seeds.
