Because the last few games have proven who the most important player is on this team and the arguments that have been used against him are stupid AF. Couldn't even beat the ****ing Nets at home.
Well, 2025 pretty much dispelled the myth that Jalen can only be efficient without Sengun clogging the lane or slowing down the pace. The fact is, the super efficient "January Jalen" played with Sengun and in the past 3 games without Sengun, he wasn't very efficient.
A lot of people seem to struggle with the concept "correlation is not causation". I strongly suspect that Jalen's hot and cold streaks are partly just random variation, and if there is a single causative factor, it's more likely to be that he plays better when he's healthier and plays worse when he has nagging injuries (like last night).
You can argue that green can be better with a different center but anybody with an eye can see that Sengun doesn’t slow down the team. that’s a completely baseless only fan argument.
So he was healthier the first two weeks of the season and then had a nagging injury until the beginning of January and now there's another nagging injury?
Not necessarily, simple luck and inconsistency probably explains some of it. but I do wonder if he plays through injuries that throw off his game sometimes.
Purely in terms of gravity, Alperen Sengun is quite easily our best player, and I do think his defense is still a tad underrated in these parts. He isn’t Hakeem, but I could see him becoming Al Horford-ish. Udoka talked in the presser last night about “defensive awareness”… That is one aspect of defense that Alperen has in spades.
Yet another moronic dig at Sengun. Just for your laughs, I extend this wish to the universe: May Alpi join the Lakers...
