If that's the case, then so be it. I am a bit surprised "we lost" him, haven't heard of him signing anywhere....................Peace out Breggy, you were one hell of a spark plug, but your salsa sucked
Crazy how many decent players are still free agents with just a week before spring training starts. Any of these players (ignoring cost) would be extremely likely to make Houston’s opening day roster: Bregman Alonso Verdugo Canha France Pham Gallo Heyward Gamel Peralta Pivetta Quintana Heaney Gibson Lynn Junis Quantrill Robertson Jansen Barlow Garcia Kimbrel Beeks Ottavino Chafin Finnegan Alexander Jackson Graveman Raley Maton Middleton Neris Smith I was really expecting Houston to make 1 more significant move (and at least 1 additional minor move) this offseason. Their current roster is good, but it’ll be the first time they have entered spring training as a clear 2nd/3rd tier team since 2017.
Maybe (in my dreams) Dana Brown, all-world talent evaluator, is just that excited about Dezenzo, Matthews, Melton, Smith, Blubaugh, Ullola, etc.
Arrighetti might have a higher era than what his pitching ability is. Every level he had a learning curve and then typically 1 bad start per month. If he gives you 26 great to good starts and 6 clunkers (1 a month) he could have a higher type era and still basically be really really good. Brown was absolutely awful to start the year. He was as good as anyone in baseball the last 4 months of the season after he switched up his pitching mix. That counts enough, personally for me. We will see. I expect quality from blubaugh and am hoping for TOR for Ullola by 27 after getting his feet wet in 25 and establishing himself in 26. The Hunter Brown plan, IOW.
Fun pod. Only thing you got wrong is the Toronto border crossing. I’ve done the airport version a few times recently and it was easy. The taxes and general inconvenience of being there is real though
I am surprised to hear that. The announcers seem to b**** every time we are up there about that but maybe I just made it up in my head.
