I think you misunderstood what I said - I didn't mean we don't have room, for Williams, I meant we don't have room for those 2nd round picks he would cost.

There are no minutes on this team for a 2nd round draft pick ..... hell there are only garbage time minutes for last years #3 pick.

Those picks never need to get made by the Rockets, they need to spend them to otherwise improve the roster.

He would be a fantastic addition if he were healthy and 12 million a year is pocket change in today's NBA,

BUT

the guy has averaged 37 games a season in the 6 "full" seasons he was in the NBA, 34 per game if you count this season. that is horrible..

"Theo Ratliff" level horrible, who was a terrific athletic big before he got injured by the way...

Yeah. Agreed. I'm a realtor. I can list your house for a billion dollars. That ain't what we are going to get for it though. The market will dictate what it actually sells for. And, frankly, I like that they're asking too much. Because, as a realtor, I can tell you that if you list too high, you tend to have less showings/interested buyers. And the less interested parties, the less leverage you ultimately have. So sometimes, you sneak in and get it at less than market value precisely because the sellers had unrealistic expectations.

I don’t quite understand the Rob Williams market.

He of course cannot be a team’s starting center, or even a team’s primary backup center. He hasn’t appeared in more than 3 consecutive games at any point since the 2022 season.

1000 minutes in a season is a super low bar. That’s 16 mpg for 65 games. Robert Williams has done that once in 7 seasons.

He can only really exist as a platoon third center; a specialist for certain matchups.

Obviously no team is trading more than a couple SRPs (at absolute most) for him.
