Their best isn't always good enough, nor does it always ring fair between teams. Rockets were attacking a lot of the game and challenging for rebounds and not getting calls. Why did NY keep getting sent to the line but not us? Again, I agree they're not WHY we lost.... we cannot pin letting Knicks score 46 4th pts on that, but it felt really one-sided tonight, better than any love we ever get at Toyota Center (do we ever get home cooking?). Lol anyways, we had control of this game again and again and again only for stupid plays and turnovers to wreck it. As frustrated as I am at some of the officiating, really I'm trying to juggle my extreme irritating at our team vs why I expected us to win at all minus 3 starters.
Reed Sheppard is basically a mannequin…he either sucks or does nothing, rarely is he mediocre and even rarer are the times where he’s better than that
Not giving up on Jalen.. Needs to add 8-10 of muscle in the offseason.. He'll start getting the calls and all this hatred will go away... At least I can hope the 1st part.. The hatred is unfortunately permanent from most .. smh
Stupid Udoka not playing Cam. Could have used Reed too with shooting and his growth even if we were going to lose.
No its not stupid. Amen has the best field goal percentage, had only 3 turnovers to Jalen's 6, also had 11 assists and was generating almost all our open looks. Sengun wasn't in the game so that is irrelevant here but Jalen Green was the worst player on the court in the 3rd and 4th. Cam and Holiday were saving us the entire third quarter. Not to mention Amen has only been here for a year and a half and he is already trusted by Udoka more than Jalen. Green has been here for 4 years now.
It's a difference of opinions but I definitely don't think our players are capped out and do believe Amen and Green will grow into really good players. Amen's handle has come a long way from where it was a year ago. Rome wasn't built in a day.
They had a gameplan around Jalen. Jalen played well the 1st qtr for like 5 min then he started turning the ball over. Ref were on a mission tonight kat should have been out a long time ago
Holiday played really well tonight and Reed played well too. Jalen looked like he was shaving points.
No I completely get you, Jalen was super frustrating especially because without him playing well it leaves the rest of the team in a really awkward spot and he was BAD tonight. Six turnovers in the second half is absolutely inexcusable, especially in a close game. All I can say is I hope he makes it up to us tomorrow and we destroy the Nets. A three game losing streak isn’t ideal but thanks to the cushion we have, we’re still sitting pretty in the West.
Rockets don’t just give up 40pt qtrs magically - it’s not like Knicks started hitting a bunch of 3s The refs literally put the Knicks in the penalty early and started granting them a bunch of and 1s reminds me of the last game Ime was pissed when we gave up 40 in 4th samething refs started calling game different from first 3 qtrs on (ONE SIDE)
That’s not my point. We’re overachieving with this roster and it’s not sustainable moving forward. It’s not about tonight. We’re winning games due to our defense, wouldn’t you agree? Building a team off defense and being a zero offensively is eventually going to wear you down as we’re starting to see. I don’t want to call it gimmicky but a team being this bad offensively doesn’t bode well.
Jalen tried to do too much and ended up too many turnovers. He was doing a decent job in distributing the ball during the first 5 minutes of game, then he came back to earth. I'm not trying to blame the loss on him, but insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results. Stop dribbling the ball until the shot clock with 5 seconds left then pass the ball or force a shot. This is not good basketball. This is the fourth year of him and he got his bag, and he needs to learn how to read the game if he wants to escalate himself to another level.
Not just that. Brooks sucks at chasing down lose balls. He reacts so slow to a free ball. He’s not really a high energy guy. Not like Tari, Holiday and And Amen. Dillon average less rebounds than FVV and Jalen. He doesn’t bring those intangibles
