Because it's Kevin Durant and he makes the Rockets a legit contender this year. If the cost is only Suns picks, Brooks, and either Cam or Bari I don't see how they can pass that up. The experience the young guys could get from playing and winning with KD can't be ignored either.

Don't want Booker. His contract is 4 years at 50m and he doesn't fit as well as Durant either from a role or timeline perspective. Durant will be gone by the time we have to pay Amen. Booker is a much better offensive player than FVV, but doesn't give us the spacing we need and is not the closer that Durant is. I guess he is better than Jalen now, but maybe not in the long run and costs more and he is not a good defensive player.

That's not necessarily true. If they take a Warriors package of Wiggins, Kuminga, Podz, and picks I don't think they go into full rebuild mode.
You do realize that trading for Durant means giving him the 2 year max extension he's eligible for this summer? That's $65M in 2027-28, the year KD turns 40, and the first year of Amen's extension. I would definitely pick up Craig if he can be had on a vet minimum, nice depth piece. Especially if we end up trading one of our forwards (like Tate) to match salaries in another deal

If they got that package they could make the playoffs and be pretty damn dangerous. The Suns problem this year is depth. For their team this year having 3 very solid rotation pieces instead of Durant would make them better. If the Warriors are offering that they might take it and then the Suns picks aren't worth nearly as much. We better be on the phone right now for Durant.
