Hey man if he floats your boat good for you. LaFleur has more to do with that offense than the hype man next to him.

I can dig it. McVays offensive scheme should be known as a stand alone. He took the Shanny offense and shot it full of andro.

I don’t know how to feel about it. Knowing Chip Kelly is making 6.5M to be OC, what other true lock for a great OC was there? Not Kubes junior. I’m just surprised we took Caley over LaFleur, the actual OC

Not sure it entirely matters given neither guy called plays.

The system is going to put a lot more responsibility on CJ. Hopefully that's a good thing.

The Texans did have interest in Chip Kelly, the former Ohio State offensive coordinator. Two sources told me the team had conversations with the Kelly, but it was not a formal interview.

It was more so an indicator of interest, one source described it.

And Kelly had interest in the job. … However, the Texans were not interested in paying Kelly $6 million, one of my sources said, which is what he will reportedly get with the Las Vegas Raiders, and is more than what some head coaches get. He’s now the highest-paid coordinator in the NFL.

The same source who said the Texans weren't interested in paying him that much emphasized, though, that if the Texans really wanted Kelly over the others, owner Cal McNair would have had no problem making it happen.

But Ryans liked the other candidates and didn’t think there was much separation between the options.

General manager Nick Caserio was also obviously high on Caley.

I like the Hannah is willing to open up the purse strings. But $6 mill a year would’ve made put him in a higher bracket than Demeco.

Paying Kelly $6M would have also forced a raise for DeMeco. It would be real awkward if the OC was making more than the HC.

Wasn’t the Bears 2024 OC Shane Waldron also a former McVay passing game coordinator and TE coach? Mofo was fired like 10 games into the season iirc. Seahawks fans aint so high on him either.

Edit: Hawks fans attribute Geno’s resurrection to Dave Canales and not the McVay disciple. Oof.
