I’d do Green and Thompson plus picks or other young guys. Ideally you’d pair Luka with Sengun

I would've traded Sengun and Green for Luka.

Barring injuries, Alpi, Amen and the Rockets will hopefully have an amazingly successful decade ahead.

    Let's not do the meme.

I'd do Jalen for Luka straight up, plus Cam or Bari (better not) if needed. But not Amen, and maybe not Sengun.

Man I’ll swim from Australia to America and drive them to the airport myself. Luka is generational. Will be the face of the league sooner rather than later and has already dragged his team to the finals. Amen and Sengun may become top 10 players but Luka is a MVP candidate for the next 5-8 years barring injuries.

The timing isn't right, if Luka was offered earlier, prior to the Amen draft, they would have included absolutely anyone.

Yes, but he has to care about his body, Free throws and Defense.

Even solving 2 aspects would help his cause tremendously. And trusting his teammates with the ball would add to it.

It is not impossible, the Mavs failed to hammer down those points and gave up.

A big part of being accountable.

Ideally you try to keep one of Sengun/Amen... BUT the most valuable asset in the NBA -- in terms of excess value versus their contract -- is an ultra superstar on a max contract. These are players that are worth $100 million/year but getting paid half of that. Doncic falls into that category.

But to have Doncic AND Sengun on the same team for many years would be AMAZING. So much intelligence, creativity, and scoring ability.

Jalen, Jabari, Whitmore + picks would've been a nice haul for the Mavs. I'd do that deal: Amen, Sengun and Luka... Oh my!

The greats of the greatest play both sides of the court. Doncic is an all-time offensive player, but James Harden was even better offensively. Doncic is not even in the top five currently, so no he is not generational. Jokic, Ant, Tatum, Wemby, Sengun, Giannis are all better players than Doncic right now. Amen will be better next year. Flagg the year after. Basketball is played on 2 sides of the court and Doncic absolutely sucks at 50% of basketball. Flame me all you want, but watch as the Rockets outplay the Lakers just like they were outplaying the Mavs this year. For as long as they hold onto Amen and Sengun, they will be better than both of those teams, unless the NBA finds another corrupt way of getting Flagg or another great to the Lakers. Fat beer slugging Doncic is going the way of Embid, Zion, and AD and will be constantly injured.

I love our guys, but "Amen will be better than Doncic next season and Sengun already is" is a helluva spicy take

Hope you're right about Amen, and about the Lakers being worse than us, but my brother in Christ, you might be a bit of a homer :D

Gun to my head, I think you'd have to. As good as the Rockets already are, you're still holding out hope that even one of these guys becomes a player anywhere close to Luka's caliber. A core of Luka, Jalen, Bari, Tari, Cam and Reed could have been great. You'd have to upgrade at C, obviously, but Adams and Landale would be OK as a 1-year solution until you could truly address the position. And, long-term, you could feasibly start Bari and Tari together with Jalen and Luka to mitigate the loss of Amen and Sengun on defense and the boards.

That being said, I wouldn't have felt great about it and I'm glad this is just a hyphothetical. This core is growing so well together and it would have hurt to watch those two thrive with other franchises. This offer would have been a hell of a lot better than what they dealt him for, though. lol

I'd add Jalen to either / or, So Sengun + Jalen or Amen + Jalen but not Amen + Sengun.

Either option would have been good

    FVV
    Luka
    Brooks
    Amen
    Jabari

    or
    FVV
    Luka
    Brooks
    Jabari
    Sengun

Nope. We are one of the best teams in the NBA with a core under 23 years old.
