He's re-posting Cod's information from another thread because Codman has a tendency to post what he's heard into random threads, hence, the info would be lost if not copied and pasted to, well, here.
Good call. That is one of his nicknames on bball reference. I just googled Big Science and it was a song by Laurie Anderson. You're definitely right on that one.
Lauri Markkanen on the Rockets would be NBA's worst nightmare... him at the 4 in this lineup? It would also mean bye too Jabari + all the salary fillers + picks. Idk how that trade would line up but sheesh.
Big science is Valenciunas, Timber shingles falling off could be Ingles on Minny. Don’t know temple of doom means, but I want to say could be Rob Williams since he’s referencing his days in the East + help for Sengun
Rob Williams: "You need me to carry that bag for you, Alpi?" Sengun: "Yeah. And don't drop it this time, you clumsy cow!" Because Williams will seldom, if ever, see the court.
Well, let me hold my horses... but I also forget Danny Ainge is in Utah so he'd shake us for everything we got.
Figured I’d have some fun and throw it in Chat GPT. Here’s the conclusion it came to: The Rockets appear to be exploring big man reinforcements, with Jonas Valančiūnas as a key target and Day’Ron Sharpe as a younger depth option. They are also eyeing Malcolm Brogdon as a veteran guard and possibly Bilal Coulibaly or Olivier-Maxence Prosper from the Wizards (Sarr reference). A Brooklyn trade involving Day’Ron Sharpe and potentially one of the Cams (Johnson/Thomas)could emerge around February 4th. Keep an eye on the Pelicans, Nets, Wizards, and Trail Blazers as key trade partners for Houston.
I threw that into ChatGpt and got.... The chessboard is set, and the pieces are moving. The Space Cowboys are scanning the horizon for reinforcements, eyeing a towering knight from the bayou and a young upstart from the boroughs. Meanwhile, whispers in the wind suggest an experienced tactician may soon join their ranks, while a pair of enigmatic prodigies from the capital remain in the shadows—one perhaps with a legacy written in the stars. A storm brews in Brooklyn, where a shifting tide could see a young tower and one of two elusive "Cams" caught in the undertow, the date of reckoning looming near. Watch closely—the Bayou, the Boroughs, the Capital, and the Forge of Roses are all in play. The wheel turns, and February 4th may reveal who truly holds the cards.
Together We Plow lol. I love the Cod/Plow posts but I take it as pure entertainment. The 80’s goth references though are what I’m really here for. Side note- I do think a lot of talent starved vet/capped teams call Stone all the time about guys like Cam. Hell I bet Morey has even called about Reed. Totally his type of player to try and snag ala Thabeet. Cam probably gets a ton of interest but I’m sure Stone sees the predatory behavior and is just going to let a Morey type get him on a flyer type deal. I do think he’s one of the more likely players to get moved but that still doesn’t mean it’s likely. If the Rockets are getting Fox (obv not now) or Butler I doubt we see any deadline deals at all. Even Jock at this point is kind of necessary for depth.
I've been a big fan of getting Brogdon for 2 years, but I've cooled off because his 3 pt shooting has not been good this year. I'd give up quite a bit for Coby White. We could let FVV go next year and have an Amen, Jalen, Coby, and either Reed or Cam frontcourt. Vucevic would be nice, but he doesn't play defense and might be too expensive as a backup. We need 3 pointers for when Brooks and Jabari are cold. Cam Johnson would be a good option if all it costs was the 27 swap with Brooklyn. I think they are a play-in or play-off team by then. They play in NY and FA's will come flocking if they end up with a couple of really good drafts this year and next. Flagg and Boozer is a possibility.
