The Rockets will finally get Devin Booker when he’s on the wrong side of 30.

We'll be just like the Mavs.

Amen Thompson will be 25 in 3 years time, a 3 time all star and averaging 18-10-10 with 5 stocks. We trade for Booker and a single first because we want a guy who can "shoot a bit better".

They would have still done the Bridges deal. They would be better than they are and would be "healthier". I'd see them fighting for the East play in.

I’m really not sure that Brooklyn is tanking. If they were actually tanking, they would have already traded Cam and Claxton for picks and been at the top of the pecking order for Flagg. As it stands now, I think their best path would be getting in on the Butler ordeal and using Simmons’ expiring salary to absorb Beal. They would still be able to offer the most money to any free agents this offseason and have trade flexibility. More of a reset than a tank job. Their ownership seems almost unreasonably averse to tanking.

They've traded DFS and Schröder. They are always "hurt". I think they are doing the KPJ/Wood hoping to find some magic and do a quick rebuild with their young, not too old guys while still not winning too many games. I think they expected to win less than they have and are holding out hope they can keep Cam and pair him with Flagg.

No get Durant for cheaper and for only 2 years. I'd give them 2 of their picks and Reed, Cam and filler. We'd still have really good picks and players to make a trade in 2 years. FVV, Amen, Jalen, Durant, Sengun with Dillon, Tari, Jabari, and another combo guard like Brogdon or Lonzo or Coby White would be a championship team for this year and next. Booker will take all the picks and doesn't spread the floor or play defense.

I hope we don’t empty our assets to bring together KD and Butler

I get all the concerns with Durant, I really do. Old, been injured, etc. But…

FVV / Green / Durant / Amen / Sengun is a contender, and you can’t really convince me otherwise. We’re a top 2 - 3 team in the West without arguably the most unstoppable offensive player of all time.

Would I mortgage the farm for him? Absolutely not. But would I consider a deal for him that would allow me to retain a lot of my assets? Absolutely yes.

Yeah as long as KD’s price tag is reasonable (like 2 picks and non-core guys), I’m all for it. Our window starts this season.

Yup. In my mind, Durant gives us about a 3 - 4 season window, which would bring our existing core to their primes. Then, we have some pretty amazing 2029 assets we can use to find Durant’s replacement.

Kinda leaning towards Durant.... seems like it might not cost much.

Feels like Booker will be harder to pull off without Sengun and Green available, plus just costlier.

I'm not opposed to using all the Phoenix pics and 1 Rocket FRP for Durant and Coby White. Both are perfect matches for this team and If Phoenix gets players back like GS is offering the Suns will not tank and the picks will not be lottery picks.

Brooks likely has to be in the deal for salary purposes and I'm guessing the Suns would want at least one young player like Cam. But even in that scenario all you are really giving up from the current rotation is Brooks. I don't see how the Rockets could pass on that if KD was ok with the trade.

Or unless an Anthony Edwards becomes available. He probably isn't available though. Just like how Luka is not available...
