Hopefully it wasn't for the low low.

Also, even if Lavine is a bad contract, he's a talented player. Gotta love seeing Fox stay in the West and another star added to the West. The conferences are more and more lopsided by the day.

Lavine to the Kings is pretty solid and they also got a ton of FRPs.

They gave up two lotto picks in the loaded 2025 draft and a 2031 pick from Sota, plus their own 2027 pick. The 2025 Hornets pick is very valuable.

And because of his contract, Zach Collins has negative trade value.

They only really got 2 FRPs. The Cha pick won’t convey and is really two SRPs. Not that I think they did poorly overall — LaVine, 2 FRPs, and 5 SRPs is pretty decent.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

I think Lavine is heavily underrated. The Bulls are okay, not as if they are tanking type terrible. He just isn't a number one option.

    For this season:

    Spurs got much better
Kings got better - never watch kings games but Fox looked invisible the most recent two games against us; Lavine fits

    Lakers got worse
Mavs got worse - on paper Mavs are okay but they will unravel: Kidd and the players look stunned, and who knows if Kyrie can stay level-headed amidst all of this

We just gotta stay the course.

“There was no ****ing list. There was one team.”

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44126913/mike-brown-firing-ended-deaaron-fox-sacramento-kings

Fox relayed to the Kings that San Antonio was his preferred destination due to the Spurs' youth and athleticism, not to mention the idea of pairing with budding superstar Wembanyama.

Once Paul informed Sacramento of Fox's desire to join the Spurs, reports surfaced of the guard telling the club he had a list of preferred teams.

"There was no f---ing list," Fox said. "There was one team. I wanted to go to San Antonio. So, a lot of people are mad at me, saying I handcuffed the team by giving them a destination. Well, this is my career. If anybody else is in my position, you'd do the same thing. It's not my job to help build your team. I'm not about to just go where they want me to go. I wanted to have a destination."

Players cannot decide where they want to be traded to. That is the dumbest **** ever.

    I mean, he kinda did.

Players can do this because opposing teams won't bother giving up significant future assets for a potential short term rental of a player if they're not his desired destination.

    It's just leverage.

I am a little surprised that some teams wouldn't try anyway knowing that it's rare that the team a player wants to go to actually has enough cap space. But, then again they probably don't want to burn a bridge a player's agent (who may manage other players you want).

I agree. I just think it’s annoying they can do all that.

Ant. Wemby. They will one day ask to leave to bigger markets and the teams can’t do anything about it.

Hopefully Fox, Wemby, and the Spurs will experience a great deal of disappointment.

Not injuries, I don't want anybody getting hurt. I just want them to miss the playoffs and/or get knocked out in the play-in every year, that would be fine by me.

If he was better, i would have been annoyed. But he's not, so i'm still thrilled we dodged that bullet.

Imagine they got a player like Luka or Edwards to pair with Wemby etc a top 10 player in the nba. Don’t need that.
