We could've beaten this offer, pretty easily I think. Whether we should have I don't know. I understand not wanting to change the starting lineup on a team which has been as good as ours has been. But I think we need to trade for a point guard or combo guard, whether that be a starting caliber player like Coby White or Collin Sexton, who could be a 6th man for us, or a good backup like Jose Alvarado. The need couldn't be more obvious at this point. Needs to be a guy who can make plays and shoot threes. Take FVV's ankle injury as a warning sign--he's been playing too many minutes and the next injury could be a lot worse if we don't make a move.
When the trade request was announced, they said that Fox already had a destination in mind and was already looking to sign there in 2026 no matter what. They never officially made it public but everyone kinda knew it was San Antonio. That was probably enough to scare away any bidders.
What's funny is that I feel more than half the board didn't want Fox so this really should not cause and uproar in the GARM.
I don't really like SAS getting him for so little--I feel like we probably should have beat that offer and at least forced them to counter-offer and trade a little bit more away. They got him for a pretty meh return if you're the Kings.
Spurs will definitely make the play-in and could be a handful. Gonna be tough (but not impossible) for them to finish top 6. Especially the clowns who said they wanted the Spurs to trade for Fox and got their wish.
What a steal for Spurs to get Fox. They even dont trade any rotation player. Lol Stone is still focus on some scrubs?
