Getting interviewed by Taylor Rooks is like making the All Star game. No way Jalen reveals his immaturity in the past had that been Kevin Eschenfelder asking the questions.
I watched this interview hoping to see signs of the maturity some of you mentioned. Sorry, what I see here is the same problem we’ve had all along: Jalen is dumb. I wish we could put Fred’s brain in Jalen’s body, but we can’t. Not to knock Jalen’s talent or effort: He’s working harder at everything, and it shows. I appreciate that. But being dumb puts a limit on what he can accomplish. Weirdly, although his mental limits interfere with things like shot selection, they seem to help him with some emotional aspects of the game. In situations where Jabari overthinks and chokes a shot or doesn’t take it, Jalen just lets it fly. When the best advice is “don’t think,” Jalen’s your man. Transferring my hopes to Amen.
This is Sengun's and Fred Van Fleets team. What is this stupidity? Jalen Green is a player whose skillset , if manage succesfully, is only scoring. No basketball fundamentality, no basketball iq, knows nothing about creating, passing.. Really started to sick of this Green manias. Scoring 29 points with 24 shots is not success. We have only one star Sengun, our all star and others...
Dude is 22 not sure why you expect a doctoral dissertation. Oh yeah Amen with his "I feel like Kobe" sounds so much smarter. Gimme a break.
Honestly this is a issue of a culture barrier for you. You need someone to speak like you to deem the intelligent. It is a sign of narcissism.
"dumb" is too cynical but understand and agree with the overall sentiment. It's just who he is though. Not everyone can be 99th percentile athlete AND 99th percentile intelligence/eloquence. What I do find encouraging is the direction at which his development is going - trending upwards
What does accent have to do with anything? Banchero didnt say anything that was smarter than what Jalen Green said. In fact I would argue Banchero is dumber than Green did you know he promised Italy he'd play for their national team and then played for Team US in the World cup? Banchero cost himself his international fanbase and his team didnt even get to the Finals. Jalen Green did something similar with the Philippines but handled it better and didnt receive any flak or drama for it.
"Culture barrier," LOL. Such a lame knee-jerk excuse I repeat: For comparison, here's Banchero, age 21, with the same interviewer. Or are you going to claim he comes from my "culture"?
You honestly just seem to equate your understanding of his speech with IQ. You realize its your fault if you can't understand him but other people can, right?
