Ok, So I am in Toronto on business and decide to take in a movie, the only one that is at 5pm and allows me to see the Astros game that night is... Shaun of the dead. I had heard it was ok, so I decided to check it out. It is WAY better than Ok, it is amazingly funny. This is a great find, we laughed out loud on numerous occasions. It is a kind of English parody on Dawn of the dead...only the characters and setups are just down right funny. I give it 4 stars out of 4.....a must see....and I don't like Zombie movies in general. Please do yourself a favor and check it out. DD
Guy 1: What do we do now?!? Fat/funny guy 2: We could get rounded. Great movie. I saw it this summer flying home from London.
Lynus, I like it when he is hung over and is walking through all the zombies and slipping on blood and is oblivious... It is just really really funny stuff. DD
Really? The only gross part I saw was the bit where the guy was dragged out the window at the Winchester.... I thought that was a bit much but the rest I found hilarious. DD
I was doing ok throughout most of it. The comedy kept the mutilation and gore very light hearted. But near the end the movie got intense all the sudden, not funny anymore for some reason. And yeah, that scene was so utterly disgusting it was funny.
I've heard the complaint before about how intense it gets at the end, but it seems like people forget the last few minutes of the movie. The jokes come rapid fire on the tv when they show you the Zombie game shows and you see the annoying cell phone kid from the store pushing that cart around. "I can't believe I had to say 'remove the head or destroy the brain.'" Also, how they keep changing the channels before you hear the cause of the zombies and how they make fun of 28 days later by saying that the theory that a monkey started the epedemic is rubbish. Gotta love Chris Martin from Coldplay talking about Zombaid as well.
I took a girl visiting me from Lufkin to see this last nite. I had already seen it once before and figured it'd be a great date movie. The only problem was, I tried to kiss her after we got home and she wasn't into it. WTF?! I've totally boned this chick before! Now she comes and stays at my house for two nights but she wants to be "friends?" That was a HUGE ****ing blow to my self-confidence.
Give her the boot and send her home early. Are you implying the gross effects in the movie turned her off to you?
Well, we knocked the boots a couple years ago, before she moved to Texas... but she's not seeing anyone or anything. I don't really understand her inviting herself down and then spurning the Hippie. Perhaps my screename is now more accurate than ironic.
People change. She obviously doesn't understand the male(or the Hippie's) mind. She knows she slept with you before, she came to stay a few nights with you, and then she just wants to be friends. Men want the sex all of the time and it's always in the forefront of the male mind's thoughts. Unless you turned into a gorilla hose beast since you last slept with her(made even more noticable by the movie), she obviously came to stay with a completely different frame of mind. What are you'll supposed to do now...as friends? Go to the zoo and watch the monkeys have sex. Maybe she'll change her mind?
Loved the movie, just didn't like the end at all...although I didn't watch Dawn of the Dead so if it was a parody of that....my bad.
The part where they tear all his guts out was actually in Dawn or Day of the Dead so I'm guessing they just wanted to pay homage to the original. It was a little much for some people but I think that was the point. Don't you think it looked a bit fake? I always did, so it was more funny to me.
Great film. Took me back to my days of watching the old Peter Jackson horror flicks (Braindead, Bad Taste). The gore wasn't that bad, mainly because it looked pretty fake, it was done with some amount of humour, and I've been desensitised to it.
A buddy of mine at work had an import DVD of this and let me watch it today. This movie is hilarious! It wasn't anything like I expected. By far one of the better comedies released this year. 2 thumbs up!
im thinking of maybe going to watch this movie tommorow now since you guys liked it so much. im wondering if the grudge is any good to...
