I wonder if u can get a trade rescinded if u claim u were having acute psychosis or a manic episode at the time this is some “the voices in my head told me to do this” type sh*t
I hate Dallas and the Mavs...the Lakers are one of the few things I hate more. The annoying fans, league favoritism and the perpetual gifting of superstars
How are the Mavericks getting a #1 pick? They're making the playoffs. They probably don't even have their pick, either. Maybe Utah gets it for what they did to help this trade. The best the NBA could offer is a return to the Finals.
[McMahon] I've had multiple people within the Mavericks used the term "held hostage" as how they felt about being you know the the entire franchise relying on Luka with this looming $350 million commitment coming this summer
Maybe paired up Dwight with Chris Paul or Steve Nash or Mo Williams. Dwert was already pretty mediocre.
This is so stupid. Mavericks are a business and Luka is your money maker. So stop it with the being held hostage BS unless you are against making money.
I was trying to come up with an analogy for my wife who doesn't follow the NBA but was a casual fan as a kid during the Hakeem era. And the analogy I came up with was, this trade is similar to if, in 1994, instead of trading for Clyde Drexler to help Hakeem win another championship, the Rockets had traded Hakeem for Drexler plus one draft pick. This is still so incredibly fishy--if I squint and I can kinda-sorta buy that Dallas is afraid of super-maxing Luka. But even then, why only talk to one trade partner? Make it make sense.
I lived there for 18 years and the reason I hate the mavs is their fan base is obnoxious as hell. But they love their teams and can’t understand why you’d want to piss them off and go to Vegas. Dallas sucks but it’s a major market and huge sports fan base. The new ownership must has major incentives to go from a proven cash flow driving location to a startup location like Vegas. I own 6 franchises and would never give up a mature market for a startup unless I had major incentives from the franchisor.
Is Luka snorting cocaine and coming to practice reeking of booze? Mavs are acting like he was unfixable it can’t just be because he was fat
AD is a damn good player and if he didn't live with nagging or serious injuries, we would not have to squint as hard. Age is different to. Short term, Dallas will be competitive, infact it feels like they have more balance in that line up now, but yeah, you don't trade 7 to 8 years of being able to contend for a short term gain.
ah I didn’t know that. That makes sense and looks less fishy from the league level. Still a bad look though bc it seems all the assets and incentives aren’t on the table to make this add up.
Nah Nike will front him that $100M, plus all the other endorsements and increased popularity he'll get being in Los Angeles.
Harden did that for the Rockets and I 100% know this for a fact. This is just the most random hush hush deal. Adam silver has to be up at 2 am to approve. I’m sure he knew all week.
Just give him the Supermax and trade him afterward. Even if he was Zion level fat he would still get a bigger haul than AD and a 1st. He is not eligible for the Supermax now, so the Lakers will get him on a cheap extension.
